Job Description
We are looking for an Industrial Design intern to join our Industrial Design team for a 6 month summer internship. As an intern on the Industrial Design team at Square, you will support the team in design vision and narrative building, concept design development, design iteration, and design refinement of new hardware. The ID team works cross functionally with Product Management, UX, and Engineering teams throughout the design and manufacturing process to bring our vision to life. An ideal candidate for this position has a strong talent in developing unique design concepts that thoughtfully solve for the opportunities at hand. You should have practical problem solving skills, and be highly driven to develop provoking design solutions that contribute to meaningful experiences for our customers.

You will:
Work directly with our Industrial Design team to design and prototype ideas, using 2D and 3D tools
Regularly present work and progress that meaningfully contributes to our teams goals and deliverables
Qualifications
You have:Graduated within 6 months of the internship start date or currently in an undergraduate or graduate program
Passion for turning complex problems into simple and engaging customer experiences
A design portfolio that showcases your iterative design process
Proficiency in hand sketching, 2D (Adobe Creative Suite), and 3D software such as Solidwork, Rhino, or Alias.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate ideas through outstanding visualization skills.
A strong graphic aesthetic, and a basic understanding of engineering and manufacturing constraints is preferred.
Must be available for a 6-month internship
