GHD is looking for a LiDAR Team Lead to join our team. This role can be performed remotely, or aligned to any of our offices in San Francisco Bay, Southern California or Sacramento areas. Responsibilities:
  • The primary roles of the position will be to lead our mobile LiDAR efforts by helping develop efficient, effective, and repeatable workflows, generate proposals and deliverables, and work with internal and external clients
  • Lead & identify new sales opportunities with clients; lead all aspects of proposal development and submission including project estimation, planning, and scheduling; establish critical project objectives and performances with clients; lead contract preparation and negotiations.
  • Lead program estimation, planning, budgeting and be accountable for the execution and delivery of the program/project.
  • Developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting LiDAR equipment and processing data from static, mobile, and airborne data point clouds
  • Processing data and delivering products to clients or coordinating others to do so
  • Maintaining and upgrading technical knowledge as well as learning and mastering, technical field work as related to mobile LiDAR data acquisitions
Education and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Geomatics, GIS, computer science, engineering, mathematics, geography, or closely related field, with a master's degree in a similar field a plus.
  • 5 years' experience conducting LiDAR data processing and extraction
  • Proven experience using AutoCAD or Bentley to generate surfaces from data point clouds
  • 2 years' experience as project manager
  • FAA Part 107 certification for commercial drone operation a plus
  • A technical understanding of applied airborne, static, and mobile lidar technology and data quality considerations
  • Experience with data processing and remote sensing software packages like: TopoDOT, LAStools, Cloud Compare, GeoCue, ENVI, ArcGIS, QGIS, Virtual Surveyor
  • Expertise in LiDAR classification, data aggregation, statistical analysis, quality assurance, assessment, and reporting
  • An ability to travel domestically and internationally (US and Canada)
  • An understanding of horizontal and vertical coordinate reference systems, datum transformations, etc., and their significance with respect to a successful geospatial project
  • Ability to work on several concurrent projects
  • Ability to collaborate with clients in person and virtually
  • Ability to manage a team of technicians and analysts to deliver LiDAR products
