RESPONSIBILITIES:Kforce has a client in search of a Middleware Architect in San Francisco, CA.
Summary:This individual primary task is to translate the needs of a client application, taking into consideration previously deployed solutions to define and/or produce a reusable solution for this client. Communication is key as is the ability to understand and function in a complex systems software environment.REQUIREMENTS: 10+ years of overall experience in software development with 5-6 years of relevant experience in designing, developing, deploying, and operating data streaming pipelines at scale 3-4 years of experience with Apache Kafka and Apache Spark Streaming This position requires through knowledge in multiple disciplines: In a central server environment the position requires familiarity with systems software (i.e., MVS, VTAM, JES 2, CICS, RACF, MQseries and DB2.) in addition to development languages and tools (COBOL, ISPF) In a mid-range/server environment the position requires familiarity with systems and application software of Unix and variants thereof, Microsoft OS, WebSphere, MQseries and Netware specifically NDS. Expertise in OS/390 and OO methodologies and languages is a fundamental requirement Experience in tuning Spark Data pipelines to achieve high throughput with low latency Programming proficiency in Scala or Java Experience with Containers, Kubernetes and scaling elastically Strong background in algorithms and data structures and continuously develop and acquire new technical skills Experience providing technical leadership and mentoring other engineers for best practices on data engineering Experience in automating Spark pipeline deployment/testing (DevOps, CI/CD) Knowledge of various databases/database technologies - Cassandra (NoSQL), Postgres, or other columnar databases Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, Scala/Java, NoSQL Databases, Elasticsearch & Kibana, Kubernetes, Docker Containers Passion for data engineering and for enabling others by making the product easier to useKforce is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
