The team is comprised of 800+ professionals responsible for implementing and supporting our Aladdin clients, sales and marketing, and ensuring the Aladdin Community maximizes Aladdin products through engagement and education.

Role Description

The Portfolio Analytics Group (PAG) within BlackRock Solutions delivers actionable insights to our investment and client teams, grounded in our proficiency of Aladdin data, technology, and processes. PAG collaborates with investors, risk managers, portfolio consultants, and Aladdin business teams to address client challenges with innovative technology solutions delivered with the scale of Aladdin across all asset classes and client segments. We ensure successful, high-impact delivery of results aligned with our stakeholders' priorities.

This Vice President in PAG's Client Business Analytics team will be responsible for partnering with distribution teams and Aladdin development teams to provide analytical solutions to ETFs and Index Investments (EII), Multi-Asset Strategies and Solutions (MASS), and US Wealth Advisory (USWA) teams. Collectively, these three businesses deliver BlackRock's full set of capabilities - index, alpha, alternatives, and whole portfolio solutions - to create a better financial future for our clients.

The ideal candidate will build relationships with our portfolio consultants and strengthen their existing workflows by delivering analytic content and process improvements that advance their ability to demonstrate how BlackRock's products can help clients better achieve their investment objectives and sustainability goals.

As a Vice President, the candidate will be a core part Portfolio Analytics Group's leadership team and will be expected to be a role model of the BlackRock principles for our junior team members and actively shape resource allocation decisions for the team. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate problem-solving skills, teamwork, and strategic thinking to apply BlackRock Aladdin's analytical capabilities in new and innovative ways while working collaboratively with the various stakeholders and partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and scale the investment process, drive sales enablement, and support product selection by both the portfolio management and sales consultants.
  • Develop deskside applications, analytic insights, analytic models, and technical solutions that align with the Firm's strategic focus areas including model portfolios, ETFs and ESG.
  • Prototype solutions and partner with technology departments to transform tactical deliverables into scalable products with commercial impact.
  • Oversee technology-related initiatives, with strong project management and communication skills: set the roadmap, drive tone, provide direction to individual team members, drive execution and results, and communicate out to partners.
  • Build inclusive teams across the community of internal groups and influence key partners and project sponsors to achieve greater consensus.

Qualifications
  • At least 6-8 years in a highly analytical role in a technology or financial services setting.
  • Strong critical thinking and confirmed leadership experience using technology to solve problems at scale.
  • Degree in business, computer science, economics, finance, mathematics, statistics, or another quantitative field of study.
  • Relentless desire for understanding how processes work. Creativity in solving unconventional problems, entrepreneurial drive to learn new skills and technologies.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Python, SQL, and UNIX. Front-end web development (Angular, React) is a bonus.
  • Superior communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey complex concepts simply and clearly.
  • Ability to work both independently and through teams in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
  • Experience in product and project management; Ability to successfully manage multiple workstreams with clear, transparent communication, as well as time management skills are required.
