Job description:

The Aladdin Product Group develops and supports every facet of BlackRock's information systems needs. Our global teams perform a wide variety of activities from maintaining system stability to growing the features and functionality of our state-of the-art trading and asset management platform, Aladdin. The breath of our responsibilities calls for a diverse range of expertise.

Team Overview:

The Aladdin Product Group, ETF Post-Trade team provides technology solutions to support the end-to-end workflow for ETF Servicing. The team is responsible for a suite of applications for the following functions: Primary Market ETF Order Capture, ETF Trade Processing and Portfolio Composition File (PCF) generation.

Job Purpose:

Build out and develop Commercial Capabilities for ETF Servicing as well as deliver capabilities for internal BlackRock ETF investment teams.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Working with project managers, technical leads, business owners, developers and QA testers through the whole SDLC
  • Developing a deep understanding of the market, users, business problems, and opportunities
  • Evaluating business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement and developing specifications for both near and longer-term solutions
  • Examining client practices and compare them to industry standards
  • Attending all key Agile development rituals such as stand-ups, grooming, planning, demos and retrospectives
  • Coordinating with users and development teams to perform user acceptance tests
  • Conduct product demos, presentations and user training

Producing Key Artifacts Critical to the Delivery of Excellent Software Products:
  • Business requirements
  • Process definition documents
  • Functional specifications
  • Data definition documents
  • Product release notes
  • User journey maps
  • Use cases, user stories
  • User-acceptance test plans and cases

Successful Candidates will Have:
  • Experience as a Product Manager or Business Analyst on software development projects
  • Financial domain knowledge/experience preferably in the space of ETFs, mutual funds, portfolio management or trade operations
  • Strong interpersonal skills and verbal/written communication skills
  • Strong project and time management skills
  • Strong ability to build effective working relationships across various levels
  • Ability to set and maintain priorities in a multi-task environment
  • Ability to handle pressure and changes effectively
  • Experience executing test plans and coordinating automated testing
  • Experience in product demos, presentations and user training
  • Experience working in a globally, distributed team
  • Experience working in Agile SDLC
  • Excellent business judgment and strong analytical skills, with ability to identify issues and solutions

Required Technical Skills Include:
  • Experience facilitating business discovery workshops and interviewing end-users
  • Demonstrated ability to write high-level business requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to write functional specifications: including use cases, business process diagrams, user interface wireframes and data dictionaries
  • Demonstrated ability to write and execute user-acceptance test plans and cases
  • Experience with modern application development (e.g. Web applications using Angular/React, Web Services, APIs, JSON/XML, NoSQL Databases, Kubernetes, Cloud Technology)
Experience with UI/UX design/prototyping is a distinct advantage
