Personalized Investing (PI) is an engineering organization comprised of more than 200 engineers whose mission is to build innovative products that try to help improve the financial well-being of our clients.

PI is comprised of three distinct teams: Thematic Investing, Digital Advice and Financial Planning. Thematic Investing is the main product from Motif which is being rebuilt for Schwab. Digital Advice includes Schwab's robo-advisory product which builds, monitors, and automatically rebalances a diversified portfolio based on investors' goals. Financial Planning focuses on offering financial planning as a service throughout Schwab. These three areas come together to give our clients a very tailored, unique, and personalized investing experience. We are looking for a talented Scrum Master to join our team.

What you are good at

  • Supporting agile based SDLC for software development creating necessary standards, tools and best practices
  • Participating and supporting development and software delivery
  • Organizing and facilitating daily stand-up meetings, reviews, retrospectives, sprint and release planning, demos and other Scrum-related meeting
  • Maintaining process and metrics documentation
  • Ensuring the development teams are practicing the core agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility
  • Updating agile tracking systems to provide transparency using Jira.
  • Supporting the development managers and project leads as necessary
  • Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and predictability
  • Assisting team with making appropriate commitments through story selection, task definition and capacity management
  • Identifying and removing impediments, prevent distractions that interfere with the ability of the team to deliver the sprint goal
  • Facilitating discussion, meetings and conflict resolution
  • Empowering the teams to self-organize
  • Improve the productivity of the sprint teams through use of metrics and retrospectives.
  • Ensuring the team strives to make each increment of functionality potentially releasable
  • Participating in the organization and planning of the development schedule based on methodology that has been developed to create a cohesive plan with identifiable platform dependencies, and major milestones, and manages the agreed project user stories and schedules, ensuring successful completion within scope, budget, time, and quality parameters

What you have

  • Must be a Certified Scrum Master
  • 5+ years as a Scrum Master
  • 5+ years of technology experience
  • Experience with Scrum methodologies
  • Experience in leading teams new to Agile
  • Must be an excellent team leader with the ability to influence and negotiate
  • Experience using Work Tracking Tools, i.e. Jira, Rally, TFS
  • Experience with negotiating prioritization between Product Owners and Technical leadership
  • Highly adaptable to a constantly changing environment
  • Must have exceptional communication, organization, and time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse and a geographically dispersed team
  • Must be self-motivated, as well as, creative and efficient in proposing solutions to complex, time-critical problems
  • Must be collaborative in driving decisions and able to deal with all levels of management and stakeholders

Colorado Compensation

Target Total Compensation - 101,400 - 165,400
