Charles Schwab Bank (CSB) has proven successful in serving the lending needs of Schwab's core Retail consumer clients which is an important business line we will continue to grow. We now have a unique opportunity to expand our lending capabilities by targeting Schwab's high net worth (HNW) clients and registered investment advisory (RIA) firms. To seize this growth opportunity, we will build a separate, parallel lending business model using Charles Schwab Premier Bank (CSPB) to serve HNW clients and RIA firms with complex credit profiles, and higher service level expectations requiring a different approach with specialized expertise to serve their needs.

Reporting into the Director of the Charles Schwab Premier Bank RIA Lending Product Solutions. This position will be responsible for developing lending solutions for Registered Investment Advisors and aiding in the strategic direction of the overall CSPB offering. This key individual will work closely with internal and external customers / partners to develop and review analytics and deliver creative high impact solutions across a range of "mission critical" lending product deliverables. This role offers the opportunity to build in-depth knowledge across Schwab Banking and Trust Services through immediate involvement in key initiatives.

What you are good at

The Manager/ Senior Manager, Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) Lending, is a pivotal contributing role, and part of a unique team developing credit products to meet the lending needs of our Advisor Services (RIA) clients. Responsibilities include Data analytics, product research and development, advancing client experience, project execution, and ongoing product management of CSPB's RIA lending offer.

Core Expertise:

  • Work with partners on the development of professional structured & commercial lending solutions for Registered Investment Advisors.
  • Structure and lead efforts to develop and enhance credit solutions designed meet RIA borrowing needs and serve as a point of collaboration for business partners across the company.
  • Deliver data-driven insights and produce recommendations to support business prioritization
  • Perform regular and ad-hoc quantitative and qualitative analyses across and within CSPB, as required by specific projects.
  • Develop presentations for senior leadership to socialize ideas, strategies, and program results
  • Lead cross-channel initiatives to increase efficiency and improve advisor experience
  • Perform competitive analysis and evaluate industry trends aligned with our ikey mandates
  • Find opportunities to enhance the end-to-end lending experience based on partner, and advisor feedback

What you have

Critical skills:

  • A thorough knowledge of commercial and structured lending, as well as in-depth familiarity with the Registered Investment Advisory (RIA) enterprise space
  • Superior communication skills (including PowerPoint), both written and verbal, as well as the ability to develop concise and effective communications tailored to specific audiences
  • Ability to think strategically and to translate ideas and plans into actions and tactics
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to organize and handle multiple priorities and drive each to completion.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills, including ability to understand needs, develop recommendations, influence partners, and move initiatives forward.
  • Contribute individually and coordinate cross functional teams and synthesize diverse points of view into well-formulated recommendations and plans.
  • Strong social awareness and understanding of how work style affects other key partners
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills; ability to gather data and use it to develop well-conceived solutions.
  • Comfortable in a dynamic and fast-moving work environment with the ability to problem solve.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to varying levels across the organization and build strong partnerships.
  • Attention to detail handling multiple work priorities efficiently independently and with teams, to meet tight deadlines with minimal direction
  • Results orientation and ability to take initiative and effectively distill strategy, analytics, and varied sets of input to aim to decisions and follow through to execution
  • Highly skilled in creating resources and presentation materials in Microsoft applications; including, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Bachelor's degree required

Experience: 5 -10 years progressive experience

Critical Success Factors:

  • Must have experience in Commercial lending and product development project management
  • A bias for individuals that can work independently to overcome obstacles and successfully and complete multiple projects at the same time.
  • Solid talent for influencing all levels of the organization and gaining the support of cross-functional partners to execute on product development plans and pivotal initiatives
  • Responds resourcefully to uncertainty and leans into opportunities for improvement. Ability to work well with a diverse range of partners with a proactive, can-do attitude
  • Superior Microsoft Office skills
