Job Description

Visa’s Large Middle Market (LMM) sales team is an integral part of the Visa Business Solutions Organization responsible for managing and growing B2B payment volume through sales, optimization and retention strategies with Financial Institutions that issue commercial payment solutions. The LMM team supports over 100 Visa commercial card issuers and supports Visa Financial Institutions that wish to launch a commercial card program. The LMM team is also responsible for the sale of net new Visa commercial card solutions to banks and corporations.

The B2B payment landscape is a global opportunity of $120T and our Financial Institution clients are key to the delivery of B2B payment solutions to address this opportunity.

The VBS LMM team is a specialized sales group within Visa supporting our internal partners responsible for strategic relationships such as Financial Institutions, Partnerships, Processors and Merchants to name a few

Job Description and Responsibilities

Sr Manager, Strategy and Customer Engagement New Payment Flows, is responsible for supporting the LMM team in the sales and delivery of commercial payment solutions to our Financial Institution clients.

The role requires an individual familiar with the payments industry and commercial payments experience isa plus. The ideal candidate will have some client facing experience and strong analytical skills with experience using large data sets to identify opportunities, solutions and actions to drive payment volume and capitalize on emerging customer and market needs. This role has client facing responsibilities and the ideal candidate should be comfortable speaking with and presenting to clients. This is a highly matrixed position and the chosen candidate will closely collaborate with the LMM sales team, FI Account Executives, Product Partners, and Client Services.

Responsibilities:

Sales Support and Client Facing Responsibilities

  • Working cross-functionally: recommend, develop, and implement new and creative approaches to grow our client’s business. Work closely with the LMM team members and coordinate a unified strategy to deliver solutions across the client book.
  • Support our Financial Institution Account Executive partners in the sale and education of commercial card payments to their clients as an SME on commercial card business
  • Coordinate and when necessary, lead, VBS responses for Commercial Card RFP’s. Work cross functionally to develop a VBS response for strategic commercial card RFP’s.
  • Support new commercial card issuers with segment expertise and assist them in the development of a commercial card program
  • Assumeleadership to support the LMM team on the cross sell of fintech partnerships and new products that will drive new payment volume across the client book
  • Support the coordination between our clients and implementation teams as needed
  • Extensive collaboration and teamwork with key internal Visa partners including VBS global teams, Finance, VC&A, Product, CSS, FI AE’s, and Merchant Sales & Solutions to execute sales plans and strategies

Action Oriented Analytics, Data and Benchmarking to Drive Payment Volume

  • Support the VBS team by utilizing data analytics in support of growing business and deepening relationships.Including use of internal Visa systems such as GBI, Tableau and other Visa systems to pull data and track performance.
  • Manage the monthly & quarterly FI benchmarking reporting process
  • Review competitive landscape and report on new developments that impact the delivery of Visa services and solutions
  • Review and understand go-to-market approaches in verticals, coordinate delivery of information to internal and external stakeholders when needed
  • Support the team leadershipwith financial analysis, data analytics, materials and presentations on the status of the business when required

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 8 years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 5 or more years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

  • 9+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3+years of experience with a PhD
  • 5+ years business experience with related Visa experience, sales or analytics experience in the payments industry
  • Exceptional ability to coordinate internal and external resources and nurture cross-functional relationships
  • Sales, relationship management or demonstrated track record of client facing work
  • Financial services and payment industry experience required
  • Strong financial acumen and analytical skills with superior ability in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Familiarity with Visa systems such as GBI, Tableau, VOL, Playbook, and VAP
  • Ability to work independently and in collaboration with high level of success/achievement.
  • Strong written and oral communication, including large-group presentations
  • Based in San Francisco Bay Area

Physical Requirements

This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment (phones and computers), reach with hands and arms, and bend or lift up to 25 pounds

Travel Requirements: The incumbent may be required to travel up to 10%
