Technical Trainer (Hybrid)

The Technology Trainer will respond to technology issues and questions, conduct new hire technical training, create written training documentation, and videos and reference materials. The trainer will represent the IT team with the highest level of customer service that includes excellent presentation skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work professionally with all areas of the firm.

Duties and Responsibilities

Work closely with the Technology Project and Training Manager on the on-going training and documentation needs of the firm.Provide training on all firm-supported software via classroom training, virtual training, webinars, videoconferencing, one-on-one coaching, and eLearning course and video tip creation.Conduct new hire technical training, both in person and virtually.Troubleshoot and provide end-user support related to software issues; respond to escalated tickets from the Help Desk team using ticket tracking software (Footprints) and serve as liaison between staff and the Help Desk to resolve technology issues .Assist with applications testing and the development of instructional materials including course outlines, videos, quick reference guides, presentation materials and classroom activities.Maintain a training calendar and partner with department managers to understand and develop needed classes.Effectively manage all aspects of classroom set-up and administration associated with the Trainer role including registration, material preparation, room scheduling, and post-class follow-up.Work within the Learning Management System (LMS) to offer up-to-date training videos and materials.Record and edit training videos using Camtasia and other video editing applications.Serve as the back-up for the Technology Training Manager.

Knowledge and Abilities Required

Excellent communications and interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with a broad range of people in a professional manner.Ability to communicate theoretical learning concepts to non-technical personnel.Excellent group facilitation skills, including the ability to adapt content to the target audience or to suit the training delivery method.Excellent technical writing skills with the ability to produce clear and accurate training outlines and user documentation.Strong organization and analytical skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and respond to changing priorities, whether working independently or in a team situation.

Software Knowledge

NetDocuments (Document Management System), Windows10, Microsoft Office 2016 and O365, Adobe Acrobat DC, Time Entry & Billing Programs (Intapp Time and Intapp Mobile, preferred), Chrome River, Workshare Compare, Cisco Webex, Learning Management applications, Best Authority, and Document Template and Numbering software (Crowther CCC Macro Pro preferred), including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)

Experience and Education Required4 + years of experience facilitating technology training, both in-person and in virtual environments, in a law firm or professional services organization preferred.College degree preferred.Experience with eLearning software (Camtasia and/or Articulate) and online training tools.
