Job Title: Certified Welding Inspector Company Profile: Leading natural gas and electric utility in the United States. Position Summary: Responsible for all aspects of gas transmission and distribution operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, restoration and emergency response. Minimum Qualification Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 5 Years of work experience in related technical or engineering fields
  • Current American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Certification
  • Experience interpreting and applying industry design drawings, standards, and codes. Examples - American Petroleum Institute (API) 1104, American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) B31.8, Welding Procedure Specifications, etc.
  • Desired
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering or technical field, or equivalent related technical certification
  • Responsibilities

  • Perform quality assurance and quality control assessments of welding and inspection activities and personnel.
  • Prepare technical reports per specification and deliver prior to predetermined due dates.
  • Administer Welder Qualification examinations
  • Perform visual inspections of welds and other pipe and pipeline facilities
  • Monitor project work processes, procedures, and methods to ensure quality standards and compliance requirements are met. Ensure equipment and tools are routinely tested, calibrated, and in good operating condition.
  • Prepare weekly progress reports on project status, technician performance, productivity, and other critical business metrics.
  • Coordinate project and other inspection activities in accordance with the project plan
  • Strong multitasking, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Adaptability to changing environments, shifting priorities, demands and timelines.
  • Proficient in using all applications within in the Microsoft office suite.
  • Speaks and writes clearly, concisely, and directly. Provides and accepts feedback and suggestions.
