Application Engineering Manager

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and secure Chipset Reference Design platforms.
  • Manage a team of engineers and technicians.
  • Help customers design in Wi-Fi and IoT RF front-end products including power amplifiers, RF switches, low noise amplifiers, BAW filters, integrated front-end modules (FEM’s), etc.
  • Support customers on their products development throughout all design phases including part selection, system architecture definition, schematic/layout review, RF front-end performance optimization, DVT, FCC regulatory tests and mass-production yield improvement.
  • Regular customer visits to promote products and engage with customers to understand customers’ requirements. Provide customers merit analysis against competitors’ products.
  • Work with design engineering and marketing teams during product development to ensure products meet customers’ requirements. Participate in project management meetings and provide technical feedbacks.
  • Create and support product documents including data sheets, application notes, etc.
  • Study latest Wi-Fi standards and industry trends and provide new findings to the team.
  • Prepare technical training documents and provide periodic trainings to internal teams and to customers.
  • This position may require occasional travel in the US (mostly West Coast States) and Asia.

Qualifications:
  • BSEE/MSEE in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) and 8+ years of experience in RF or wireless communication applications are required. IoT experience, a plus
  • Proven track records of successful Wi-Fi or wireless application system projects. Power amplifier design experience, a plus
  • Hands-on experience on RF circuit/system designing and debugging are required.
  • Hands-on experience in setting up test bench and running Wi-Fi/RF component and system-level characterizations are required.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Knowledge in communication theory including basic signal processing and modulation theory is a plus.
  • Experience with ADS or equivalent RF simulation tools is a plus.
Experience on handling the entire Wi-Fi project (RF, baseband, etc) is a big plus
