We have over 65,000 employees and a presence in virtually every country around the world to address some of the most challenging global health issues.The Product Manager will lead the global commercial activities for the BD Biosciences Clinical Informatics portfolio and will be responsible for the overall strategy, development and execution of the marketing mix as well as facilitating all customer facing activities to ensure commercial excellence.The candidate will be the global marketing representative in the core-teams and influence the development activities for different upcoming products; serve on Product Development Core Team(s). Working as part of diverse cross-functional teams, this proactive product manager is expected to apply all acquired experience to pre- and post-launch product management activities from worldwide primary and secondary market research to financial and satisfaction success measuring.In addition to the Informatics product marketing responsibilities, the candidate will provide significant input in long-term marketing and overall strategies and is expected to help position BD Biosciences as a leader in the flow cytometry industry.

Informatics Product Management
  • Lead product development, market shaping, commercial planning and launch activities for new & expanded offerings through close collaboration with the regional teams & other functions, achieving marketing excellence by employing the BD Way of Marketing
  • Gather, synthesize, and distill customer insights to define and prioritize the attributes of products and services, including features, preferences, unmet needs, and overall customer experience for future product development
  • Partner with R&D and other functions to transform customer insights and design prototypes into viable products that fulfill market needs
  • Oversee product definition to ensure clear communication and coordination of requirements to the business and development teams.
  • Manage the product backlog with team by prioritizing customer feedback, bug fixes and the feature roadmap to rapidly iterate on-market products
  • Own the product lifecycle from requirements gathering through production and release, confidently evaluating and balancing risks & tradeoffs.
  • Partner with Regulatory Affairs, Medical Affairs, and the Evidence Generation Teams on market shaping, to generate undeniable proof-points & compelling evidence, demonstrating the value of the offering to the market, justifying new pricing & business model innovation.
  • Develop robust go-to-market strategies which include defining the product pricing strategy and monitoring pricing governance, globally.
  • Lead development of Marketing Plans for new solution offerings, outlining segment-specific messaging and positioning, understanding customers, profiles, & motivators.
  • Collaborate with regional leaders and sales organizations to ensure maximum penetration of market segments.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with strategic customers and KOL’s, developing a partner network to accelerate product adoption
  • Develop multi-year product roadmaps and business cases to support platform investment decisions
  • Maintain day-to-day activities of the products on market
  • Develop and manage end-of-life plans and management of product portfolio

  • Proactively identify and resolve strategic issues that may impair the organization’s ability to meet its strategic, financial, and technical goals

  • Conduct and encourage frequent formal and informal communication cross-functionally to ensure full engagement and efficient operation.

Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree Required (BA/BS in Life Sciences or equivalent)
  • An advanced degree in life sciences, software development,or MBA preferred
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience required in product management or similar function (sales, marketing, technical applications, engineering etc.). Experience in clinical diagnostics and IVD products is highly desirable.
  • Flow cytometry experience preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with software development concepts, processes and documentation preferred

Knowledge and Skills
  • A knowledge and/or understanding of IVD products with a global view
  • A knowledge and/or understanding of Web, Mobile applications, interfaces, and cloud platforms with a global view
  • Experience with product development concepts, processes, and documentation
  • Knowledge of financial planning principles
  • A demonstrated ability to proactively build consensus across key stakeholders
  • Effective analytical, problem solving, organization and prioritization skills
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, schedule tradeoffs and opportunistic new ideas with technical and non-technical employees
  • Experience in synthesizing and distilling customer insights using both qualitative and quantitative methodologies
  • Must possess excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skillswith executive presence to instill confidence within the C-suite
