Cyber Security Engineer with TS/SCI Clearance

Location: San Jose, CA

Job Description: Our client, a large defense contractor, has an immediate opening for an Advanced Information Assurance Engineer to work from their San Jose, CA facility. As a member of our Information Assurance Security team, the Information Systems Security Officer supports system life cycle activities from scoping systems for new programs and preparing Risk Management Framework packages, to executing and supporting security testing and evaluation to ensure the correct implementation of security requirements. Maintain day-to-day security posture and perform continuous monitoring of Information Systems (IS) including security event log review and analysis, end user account audits, etc.

Qualifications: Bachelor's of Science degree in Engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

What you bring to the table:
  • A Bachelor's of Science degree in Engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency with Cybersecurity specifications such as Risk Management Framework (RMF), IAVM (Information Assurance Vulnerability Management), STIGs and other government security specifications and guidelines
  • Experience with XACTA or eMASS risk management and compliance automation tools
  • Experience developing System Security Plans (SSPs) and supporting Assessment and Authorization documentation
  • Experience with security assessment/hardening tools such as ACAS/Nessus, SCAP Compliance Checker, STIG Viewer, etc
  • Trained and proficient in Assured File Transfer (AFT) procedures
  • Self-starter with the ability to operate independently without supervision
