Job descriptionJob Title: Mid Electrical EngineerLocation: San Jose, CA - OnsiteLength of Assignment: 6 monthsClient is in need of a Mid Systems Electrical Engineer to support new product design/development projects for one of there Delivery Instruments. They need someone who knows OrCAD for PCB Design / generation of Schematics. This is all revolving around Optics Motion Control and Fluid Control.Company Product: Biotechnology research and Development. Reagents, instruments, and services support advancements in the life sciences, including frontline diagnostics and clinical applications.Day to Day: Work with Prototypes - modify, test, etc. Create PCB Schematics according to layouts. Calling and interacting with Vendors in setting up PO/ CO's, Shipping prototypes/Schematics/Designs for PCB Production.MustPCB Design / SchematicsOrCAD• Development of signal interconnection and power distribution architectures at the board and instrument level.• Knowledge of schematic capture and PCB layout using OrCAD.• Experience designing mixed-signal boards.• Motion, fluidic and microfluidic control experience.• Demonstrated ability to solve problems in a data driven, systematic and practical manner.• Working knowledge of statistics to quantitatively evaluate / compare solutions.• Familiarity with standard control systems.• Familiarity of standard communication protocols (chip to chip, chip to devices).• Troubleshooting instrumentation.• Strong analytical experience using Excel.• C# and/or C programming experience a plus.• Optics knowledge and experience is a plus.• Experienced with Arena or other product line management software is a plus.• Design using Microcontrollers and FPGs is a plus.• Experience developing assays such as NGS and PCR in automated platforms is a plus.
