Job Title: GPU Floorplan engineerLocation: San Jose, CADuration: 6+ MonthsDescriptionRole and Responsibilities: As a floorplan design engineer, you will work on top level floorplan deliverables. This is a mid-level position where the candidate will be in an individual contributor role, tasked with driving floorplan activities, area reduction, floorplan optimization. Meeting our area goal within a tight schedule will be critical for success.Key responsibilities include: • Work with architects, design leads, physical design leads, develop and optimize floorplan • Drive the area review process and collaborate with block owners to reduce block area • Optimize floorplan and help block owner to solve timing and routing congestion issues • Improve existing infrastructure to optimize chip area and speed of executionRequirementsKey responsibilities include: • Work with architects, design leads, physical design leads, develop and optimize floorplan • Drive the area review process and collaborate with block owners to reduce block area • Optimize floorplan and help block owner to solve timing and routing congestion issues • Improve existing infrastructure to optimize chip area and speed of execution Minimum requirements: o BSEE, Computer Engineer or comparable and 5 + years of relevant experience o Deep knowledge of physical design methodologies (flow and tool development), design floorplaning, power/clock distribution, P&R and timing closure. o Solid understanding of data flow, hierarchical floorplaning, block shaping, bus planning, repeater/feedthrough planning and pushing down o Strong programming skew in TCL, Perl and Python o Strong communication skills and a good team player
