eBay Inc. has an opening for a MTS 1, Software Engineer at our San Jose, CA office. Job duties include: Des, dev & support worldwide projects throughout all phases of the SW dev life cycle. Leverage open source tech & build in house projects from start to finish. Identify opportunities to improve syst & own projects. Work w/ highly available & dist syst & utilize network, cpu, & disk. Write scalable SW w/ perf in mind. Define & implement complex SW apps using Java & C. Collaborate w/ eng, QA, & ops teams to dev strategic & tactical solutions. Estimate eng effort, plan implementations, & rollout for complex search apps w/ implications to cross-functional teams. Code & test major features. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Position requires Bachelor’s deg, or foreign equiv, in CS, Eng (any), or closely rel quantitative discipline. Must have exp w/ C, advanced programming, design & analysis of algorithms, compact data structures, operating systems, computer architecture, data networks, implementation of algorithms. Any suitable combination of education, training and experience is acceptable. Experience can be gained through coursework, scholastic achievement, and work experience. Salary: $209,547.00 per annum.
