Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent experience is required plus a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus 8 years of relevant experience.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Senior Principal Systems Admninistration Specialist. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:Responsible for managing the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systemsMaintains the integrity and security of servers and systemsServes as a front line interface to users with technical issues Makes recommendations for hardware and software purchasesInteracts with third-party technology vendors and internal database staffConducts systems analysis and development to keep systems current with changing technologies Duties may include installing new software, troubleshooting, granting permissions to applications and training usersServer System Administrator is responsible for leading the day-to-day support of Server services, Operating Systems and physical & virtualized serversResponsible for the configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of physical and virtual hardwareConfigures, maintains and troubleshoots network related interfaces on serversPerforms configuring, maintaining, troubleshooting and does analysis of alerts on ServersWork with customers to identify, isolate, and resolve problems with Server that are effecting other servicesPlans, designs, and implements necessary configurations to ensure compliance with back-up and disaster recovery policies and procedures for server systemsLead automation efforts to reduce repetitive processes to streamline supportCreates, maintains and manages Disaster Recovery Plans for Physical and Virtual ServersMentors team in technology to allow them to be knowledgeable and self-sufficientWork with manager in understanding and optimizing team performanceAdvocates continuous process improvement Identify needs and investigates solutions of tools in providing enhanced supportInsures architecture is reliable, flexible, integrated and anticipates future needs anticipates future hardware/software needs to meet future business based on customer requirementsLeads reviews and analyzes performance metrics in order to optimize environment for efficiencies. Identifies additional improvement and performance metricsLeads large sized continuous process improvement efforts

Target salary range: USD $177,750.00/Yr. - USD $187,750.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary.
