- Strong web application development skills: HTML, CSS, object-oriented JS (ES6 preferred), JS frameworks, declarative libraries (e.g. REACT.js) as well as Node, JS build tools, LESS/SCSS and related tech.
- Solid understanding of web application frameworks like Ruby on Rails.
- A background with highly trafficked, scalable web applications.
- Understanding of browser compatibility, the DOM, accessibility standards and SEO.
- Commitment to writing extensive unit tests and test automation.
- Ability to write clear design and technical specifications.
- A passion for technology and learning and interest in the full stack.
- Knowledge of presentation, web, business and data access layers and their interactions.
- Proven understanding of all phases of the software development cycle.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- BS or advanced degree and 5+ years’ experience with web development.
