Position Title: Quality Technician

Location: San Jose, CA

LOA: 3-6 months to start

Process: 2 rounds of interview – one with hiring manager and then one of his leads – all can be done virtually by phone or Teams

Scope: Client has heavy project workload and needs an extra set of hands – looking for a Quality Technician who will help them, mainly with Quality documentations (

ISO 9001) and time to time with inspection and assembly. Current consultant on the ground handling more of the assembly duties primarily, so need someone more focused on the documentation aspect.

The position requires a candidate with a high school diploma or equivalent, and 2 to 5 years of experience in an ISO 9001 manufacturing / maintenance / inspection environment, and / or equivalent military environment, with emphasis on automotive, sea or aeronautical applications, and overlapping with the below skillsets. Candidate will assist the client’s quality and engineering staff in the maintenance and continue improvement of their QMS – this will include preparation and maintenance of documentation for all production related activities for client and their suppliers – monitoring qualify of products and services, ensuring products meet specified quality standards, etc. Mainly operating in an ISO 9001 environment.

Duties/Responsibilities:

The candidate will be expected to contribute to the below activities:
  • Preparation and maintenance of the required documentation, for all production related activites.
  • Interact with suppliers and contract manufacturers, to ensure quality deliverables
  • Assist in the conduct of inspection of the inbound materials from suppliers and outbound products for shipping
  • Assist in the review of hardware defects, and identification of systemic root causes and process improvements
  • Help to ensure internal/external procedures, processes, and specifications are followed at all times, throughout the production phases.
  • Assist in the generation of CARs (Corrective Actions), utilizing the 4L5Y process.
  • Assist in the generation of supply chain external SCARs (Supplier Corrective Action Requests), and contributing to the tracking and evaluation of effectiveness of the Supplier Corrective Actions
  • Help to continually educate the production team on quality control issues, and work with departmental managers to improve the quality system
  • Assist in the creation of process checklists, and coordination of internal and external quality inspections.
  • Assist with maintaining Calibration and Preventive Maintenance records, to ensure compliance, at all times.
  • Assist with visual and dimensional inspections of parts and products, with possible Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) training and use
  • Learning Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • It is considered of added benefit, if the candidate can also assist with product assembly and/or engineering type activities.
