Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for an Internal Sourcing Consultant for a CONTRACT assignment with one of our premier Software clients in San Jose, CA. Responsibilities :
- Consult internal stakeholders on strategic sourcing best practices and act as a guide through self-service sourcing process, ensuring that stakeholders are aware of and meet purchasing requirements.
- Provide resources, tools, and assist with troubleshooting as needed to enable stakeholder sourcing success.
- Identify and consolidate process inefficiencies and challenges with the objectives of improving the internal stakeholder experience.
- Partner with Global Procurement leadership to optimize and streamline self-service sourcing process and identify key performance indicators (KPI's).
- Collaborate closely with internal business customers and suppliers on the strategy and execution of sourcing projects and recommends pre-approved suppliers to stakeholders based on their purchasing needs.
- Build trusted relationships with senior internal leaders.
- Pro-actively seek value/savings and efficiency opportunities across category spend; negotiate and report in appropriate format.
- Collaborate with legal on the negotiation of supplier contracts and ensure favorable commercial terms and mitigate risk.
- Report progress on a weekly basis, indicating work planning and work in progress. Add agreements, service details and payment forecasts into procurement systems in a complete and timely manner.
- Drive continuous improvement and change management initiatives.
- Utilizes and maintains procurement tools according to Global Procurement standards and expectations
- Processes contracts according to the Legal Playbook and policies.
- Applies supplier relationship management techniques to ensure the supply base is providing required level of services, including but not limited to supplier business reviews, spend analytics, etc.
- Understands and demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of the end-to-end strategic sourcing process
- Familiarity with fiscal planning cycles and ad hoc financial analysis
- Sound understanding of procurement practices and techniques
- Ability to read and interpret contract specifications within the Procurement process
- Purchasing systems and order management software knowledge
- Aware of personal strengths and weaknesses; receives, applies, and gives useful feedback
- Familiarity with BI reporting and spend analysis
- High attention to detail and the exercise of sound judgment and decision-making
- Exceptional written and verbal communications, time management and interpersonal skills
- Excellent packager and presenter of complex concepts and dense data (an Excel and PowerPoint wiz).
- Willing to train and educate users in new processes, policies, and procedures or technologies
- Self-motivated to achieve results without requiring constant follow-up
- Reorders priorities on short-notice and adapts to changing requirements
- Manages workload and priorities effectively. Flexible working times based on company requirements at various times through the business year and quarter.
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- Strategic Sourcing/Procurement-related industry certification(s) preferred
- Preference: three to five years' experience in Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance, or Program Management in a complex, global, procurement environment
