- SQL, SSMS, SSIS and knowledge of public health space would be the key criteria
- Build code that is flexible and usable for years to come with complete documentation
- Capacitate users on basic troubleshooting and adaptations to code
- Performing data administration by creating, maintaining, and defining database structures, data and security management.
- Creating transactional to control data quality and analytical (data warehouse design) databases for reporting
- Knowledge of relational databases, coding in SQL.
- Creating ETLs for dynamically loading CSVs into database tables, transforming variables and values, calculate rates using numerators and denominators from separate tables, creating multiple views based off of health jurisdiction/county, rolling up averages for 3- and 5-year increments
- Create table permissions for accessing tables and data based off of jurisdiction and county
- Experience with dynamic sql and stored procedures to pass parameters from another reference table for table creation and bulk update statements (CSV to SQL server upload)
- Transformation of variables and values and union of multiple distinct tables o Use of windowing functions to create running 3- and 5-year sums
- Experience with designing and creating operational and analytical reports through SSIS and PowerBI.
- Capability to translate simple annotated SPSS and SAS code to SQL with instruction on what each SPSS and SAS code chunk is doing.
- Strategic problem-solving skills; capable of identifying and understanding issues, problems, and opportunities; and skilled at resolving problems by taking action consistent with known facts, constraints, and probable consequences
- Excellent project management and communication skills; able to design, implement, manage, and prepare reports for ongoing projects; and coordinate the related resources, personnel, and activities for successful project completion.
- Prepare and maintain documentation, records, and logs.
- Capacitate novice users on basic code changes and fixes
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Communicate scope and deliverables by date
- Interface with users/epidemiologists and personnel at ITD hosting the SQL databases.
