- Work with the Trade Compliance Lead, Division Manager, management team and other necessary employees to develop and implement export control procedures and tools.
- Perform Export (Commodity, Technology/Technical Data, and Software) and Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) Classification determinations under US and non-US regulations.
- Coordinate international logistics (import/export), developing long-term relationships with third-party service providers.
- Draft and manage export licenses.
- Guide functional teams regarding software, technology marking, technology transfer methods, reporting, and other administrative requirements for export and/or import compliance.
- Provide training, mentoring, communication forums, and maintaining site metrics, ensuring implementation and effectiveness of internal controls.
- Assists with regulatory interpretation and guidance in the following areas: Anti-boycott/Restrictive Trade Practices, Export Control Classification, Compliance training, Export Documentation, Tariff Classification, Sanctions, and Embargoes.
- Advises internal management or business partners on the implementation or operation of complex compliance programs to ensure business objectives comply with all relevant laws and guidelines.
- Work with IT to provide guidance with federal export control regulations that govern how technology, technical data, technical assistance, and items or materials are physically or electronically exported, shipped, transmitted, transferred, or shared from the US to foreign countries, persons, or entities.
- Assist with audits to assess the export compliance and assist in determining and implementing corrective actions where necessary.
- Domestic travel: 5-10% is required.
- 5+ years of strong trade compliance experience is required. Ideal range is 6-10+ years of experience.
- Knowledge and expertise in the area of FCPA and CFIUS.
- Knowledge of U.S. import, export, and licensing regulations, EAR and ITAR regulations, and exemptions/exception requirements.
- Ability to recognize and solve typical problems and select solutions from established options, while adapting quickly to changing priorities.
- Experience working in aeronautical field highly desired.
- Knowledge of MS Office Suite.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, or the equivalent combination of education, formal training/certifications, or work/military experience.
- Project Management experience.
