- Proven leadership experience; a 6-10 year progressive record of software develoment management of multiple technology teams.
- Deep understanding of Agile and Lean methodologies.
- Experience in application development (HTML, JavaScript, JQuery, Java, .NET, and web APIs) with exposure to high availability, data driven applications. Basic knowledge of Oracle db and application servers.
- Demonstrated leadership role identifying relevant technology trends and applying them to an business's agenda.
- Able to prioritize effectively according to team needs and ability to organize a large number of changing variables. Ability to manage multiple initiatives with rapidly changing priorities and deadlines.
- Highly organized and thorough, with an ability to facilitate communication and scheduling among different levels of staff.
- Ability to recruit and retain top engineering talent. Comfortable working in and managing a matrix environment.
- Strong communication, writing and inter-personal abilities, including skills such as attitude, diplomacy and persuasiveness, analytical ability, strong judgment and managerial skills. Ability to anticipate problems and develop effective solutions.
- Ability to work effectively with clients, technical staff and vendors. Ability to travel. Desire to work in fast-paced team environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, or related discipline, or a combination of work and educational experiences that demonstrates successful experience leading a large team of software engineers.
- This position will provide technical leadership to engineers and be accountable for business deliverables in a rapid development environment.
- Lead the engineering and development of products, systems, and services that are aligned with the business strategy and enable the company to leverage engineering knowledge into profitable revenue streams.
- Provide leadership for the Application Development team, which includes architecture, application and DB development, support and R&D, and quality assurance.
- Oversight of engineering staff including recruitment, performance evaluations, staff planning, etc.
- Foster an Agile environment for the development and release of products that facilitate high quality and rapid deployment.
- Work with business sponsors and clients to ensure client expectations are met.
- Work closely with the senior management team to ensure that business and technology strategies are properly aligned.
- Manage and improve the effectiveness, efficiencies, and consistency of engineering and development teams.
- Monitor and manage ongoing performance of engineering initiatives including; uptime, conversion rate, and consumer experience.
- Provide skillful management in partnership with the rest of the organization to deliver products on time and on budget.
- Build team strength so that TUCI has sufficient talent capacity to deliver and maintain its current and future solution software capabilities.
