We're looking for an experienced Principal Solution Architect - Enterprise Business Architect to lead our company's business architecture development at an enterprise level. This is a key role in establishing, expanding, and influencing the direction of enterprise business architecture function in a high-growth FinTech industry. As a key member of the Enterprise Architecture team you will lead and participate in business architecture reviews. You will play a strategic role in expanding the enterprise architecture function across the organization and will work across the organization to determine the needs of business units and maintain enterprise application blueprints.

Responsibilities
  • Develop a business architecture strategy based on a situational awareness of various business scenarios and motivations.
  • Lead assessment, development and improvement of technology strategy and roadmap
  • Apply a structured business architecture approach and methodology for capturing the critical views of the enterprise.
  • Capture the tactical and strategic enterprise goals that provide traceability through the organization and are mapped to metrics that provide ongoing governance.
  • Work with Product Owners, business subject matter experts, technical teams to understand business operations and develop future state business maps and technical flows.
  • Lead facilitation of sprint elaboration session to decompose high-level user stories into finite user stories and potential updates to process maps with large cross-functional teams.
  • Create client value through a unique blend of a consultant's approach to problem-solving, an industry knowledge-informed approach to business analysis, and a mature technical understanding that will lead to better questions and valuable answers.
  • Define the set of strategic, core and support processes that transcend functional and organizational boundaries; identify and describe external entities such as customers, suppliers, and external systems that interact with the business; and describe which people, resources, and controls are involved in the processes.
  • Capture the relationships among roles, capabilities and business units, the decomposition of those business units into subunits, and the internal or external management of those groups.
  • Drives and facilitates the right discussions with business leaders to identify business capabilities in relation to current and future business objectives
  • Create and maintain business capability, data, process and technology inventories. Work with multiple capability and functional teams to gather and document the structure of the business and technology landscape.
  • Lead, build, manage, enhance business capability model along maturity / optimization framework to drive enablement of the longer-term roadmap
  • Partner in the strategic planning process by providing input to the scope definition of strategic initiatives leveraging capabilities, creating capability heatmaps to provide visibility to impacts, dependencies, overlaps and opportunities. Key Deliverables include (but not limited to): Capability Model, Capability Heatmaps, Capability Maturity Assessments, Capability Impact Assessments, Capability Health Assessments & Capability Roadmaps
  • Works closely with domain architects and leaders to develop domain roadmaps
  • Works closely with solution/technical architects to deliver business architecture artifacts needed for End to End Architecture & Solution Architecture Approach deliverables
  • Presents recommendations and solutions clearly and concisely and is able to focus on key points to portray the intended message or purpose
  • Advocate and drive adoption of "best practices" to ensure standardization of business architecture outputs across the enterprise
  • Takes an active role in enterprise portfolio investment strategies by assessing and rationalizing proposed enterprise capabilities
  • Business thinking and highly strategic in order to define practical solutions that align with corporate strategy
  • Effectively manage priorities, deliverables and timelines with little need for escalation
  • Participate in and lead the Architecture Review Board (ARB) by collaborating with various stakeholders, business functions and business units.
  • Conduct informational sessions and provide business architecture consulting services for application development and infrastructure teams
  • Team up with stakeholders, third-party partners, fintechs, software vendors, and academia to design and build innovative prototypes and solutions that tackle real-time issues and advance the core of how we do business.

Requirements
  • 15 to 20 years of overall industry experience with 5+ years in leading enterprise business architecture.
  • Experience in collaborating and working alongside executive-level and senior-level partner stakeholders and vendors
  • Demonstrated ability to see "big picture" with proven experience evangelizing, driving enterprise business architecture adoption.
  • Proven success in influencing business strategy and defining roadmaps.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and play the role of trusted advisor to business, technology and executive partners and stake holders.
  • Experience defining business domain architecture at an enterprise and division level
  • Experience in portfolio mgmt., analyzing TCO, creating Capability Model, Capability Heatmaps, Capability Maturity Assessments, Capability Impact Assessments, Capability Health Assessments & Capability Roadmaps
  • Positive attitude and a strong commitment to delivering quality work.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing technologies (Azure & AWS) and current computing trends.
  • Experience presenting, knowledge sharing and consulting on enterprise business architecture
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal) to properly articulate complicated reports to management and other IT development partners.
  • Familiar with modern and emerging technologies like microservices, API management, web-scale architectures, DevOps engineering, container-based delivery, cloud automation, TDD, BDD, continuous integration (CI), and CD.

Degrees Or Certifications Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or relevant field.
