First American Title is a leader in Title Insurance and Settlement services forging the way in digitizing the Proptech industry. This role will be a part of the Strategy and Transformation Management Office leading the charge for digital transformation across Business Technology Solutions (Corp IT). This an exciting role that will be at the forefront of leading key strategic initiatives driving change across areas of people, processes, and technology.

As a Principal Technical Product Manager you will be a part of an elite team forging the way in modernizing First American's IT department through leading the development and execution of critical cross-functional initiatives.

You are a strategic thinker, change-agent, an awesome collaborator, a great communicator and listener and able to connect-the-dots and influence change to support modern software practices. You love working in ambiguous territory and are able to successfully influence executive decisions through data-driven analysis, market-research, applied practical learnings, and benchmarking. You will work closely with the executive team and translate abstract business opportunities to executable strategies and work through cross-functional teams to deliver to plan.

As a Principal Technical Product Manager, this role:
  • Work closely with product and cross-functional leaders on specific product strategy initiatives to define where we want to go and how we get there; develop product vision, roadmaps, backlogs etc
  • Implement transformational and operational changes and developing reports to inform of improvement results delivery
  • Support and help drive business analysis, metrics and reporting , to identify opportunities and inform decisions
  • Bring clarity of thought to effectively structure, communicate, and ensure alignment on our strategies and plans
  • Proactively define measures of success to collect customer feedback. Creates appropriate action plans to address when success measures are not met. Conducts regular feedback sessions to gain valuable customer feedback on the product being developed.
  • Serve as an advisor to the product leadership team to ensure progress in critical areas
  • Assist with business cases and analytical insights for assigned product initiatives by identifying clear problems and success metrics, quantitively analyzing related metrics, and using data to make inform product decisions.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the user experience, identify and fill product gaps, and generate new ideas that improve customer experience and drive growth.
  • Technical fluency. You have the ability to understand, discuss, and challenge architectural concepts, tradeoffs, and new opportunities with technical team members.
  • Excellent communication skills. You are as comfortable speaking in front of the company at an all-hands meeting as you are writing a detailed narrative on your products that you can defend with the highest levels of senior leadership.
  • Strong collaboration skills. You have a proven ability to work across functions and across marketplaces to influence senior leaders. You quickly earn the trust of people you work with.

As a Principal Technical Product Manager, you will need:
  • Proven ability to influence senior leadership within an organization
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in order to define business and technical parameters and lead team to meet business requirements.
  • Has knowledge of general business environment/operation and has general cost benefit awareness.
  • Innovative and forward thinking, decisive and action oriented
  • Experience in outcome-based delivery being business and solution focused
  • Familiar with transformation strategies and strategic change management
  • Working knowledge of the discipline of TBM (Technology Business Management), Product Portfolio Management, Agile Methodology, and Innovation Techniques

Required Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a technical discipline (i.e., computer science, electrical engineering, information systems, business administration )
  • Typically has 10+ years of directly related experience with an excellent customer understanding and progressive experience working in other aspects of technology (Engineering, BSA, Technical Project Management, SCRUM master, Program Mgmt etc.)
  • Has a deep understanding of Agile, Lean/Six-Sigma, Design Thinking Principles
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.

Preferred:
  • MBA, Graduate-level degree
  • Certifications: CSM, CPO, PMI, Lean Six-Sigma
