First American is looking for a Principal Agile Delivery Lead who will work closely with our Agile teams, their managers, and senior leaders to provide leadership and training for an enterprise-level Agile transformation.

As a member of the Agile Enablement Office you will dive head-first into delivering innovative solutions that advance products and delight clients. You'll join an inspiring team of delivery leaders and technologists to create and improve the tools, processes, and techniques to effectively build high quality software and new products.

You will be responsible for guiding the development of various agile teams into an effective delivery unit. Reporting into the Director of the Agile Enablement Office, the Agile Enablement Office will develop and lead the organization's agile strategy, playbook, training, coaching and performance metrics to ensure delivery of the enterprise' desired business outcomes are achieved.

The Principal Agile Delivery Lead will be a seasoned professional to support the organization's transition to Agile. As a skilled agile coach, you will educate on agile principles, providing tools and coaching for implementing the processes that teach Agile Practices and ceremonies that lead toward the organization-wide adoption of Agile methodologies.

This role will collaborate with product management and software development teams to assist in achieving productivity and maturity of the product operating model. You will need a lean mindset, agile coaching and mentoring expertise to facilitate product refinement, development and delivery best practices. You will be responsible for establishing and nurturing a culture of diverse thought, continuous improvement through innovation, and quality delivery.

Primary responsibilities:
  • Accountable for supporting and coaching Scrum Masters with developing agile teams into effective delivery units
  • Facilitate cross product Program Increment (PI) Planning to organize releases and ensure optimized operations across the portfolio of products in development; demonstrate subject matter expertise in large-scale Agile transformations and frameworks to support the maturity of the overall transformation initiative
  • Lead and/or support the development of First American's Agile Transformation Charter and Agile Playbook; operationalize the playbook and continuously improve the practice
  • Lead working groups to meet transformation deliverables such as identifying a standard set project metrics, revising project templates, setting up communities of practice and updating processes. Work with the team to create a plan to meet deliverables, facilitate meetings, track progress and action items, take minutes and update wikis.
  • Track adoption of practices and processes; develop and facilitate Agile scorecards to measure pod performance and adherence to Agile principles
  • Facilitate and influence key transition processes and activities; learn and understand current processes and practices to provide insight in areas to improve and optimize
  • Serves as a contributing member of a high performing Agile/DevOps coaching team, responsible for facilitating the adoption, implementation, and sustainability of Agile/DevOps processes, principles, and practices.
  • Coaches Agile / DevOps practices, techniques, and frameworks such as Scrum, XP, and Kanban to reduce the gap between Agile / DevOps theory and practice.
  • Acts as a trusted advisor to each DevOps team they are immersed with to guide those teams through their Agile/DevOps transformation.
  • Leads workshops and training sessions to educate individuals on Agile values, principles, and practices.
  • Develops, tracks, and monitors Agile/DevOps metrics on areas that affect value-driven delivery and indicate potential problems, and assists teams in implementing solutions to remediate those problems.
  • Encourages adoption of Agile/DevOps practices to improve delivery, communication, and teaming skills.
  • Instructs teams on problem solving techniques to identify organizational impediments to successful Agile transformation and works with the leadership team to create effective strategies to overcome them.
  • Partners with other Leaders, Agile Delivery Leads, OCM, and Talent Management and Delivery Teams to help influence an environment of consistency and transparency throughout the organization.
  • Serves as a change agent for teams across the organization for Agile/DevOps, Kanban, and Lean frameworks; Offers guidance and training on effective ways to use physical and electronic tools.
  • Coaches teams to assess, measure, document, and communicate progress against defined Agile/DevOps transformation goals.
  • Provides strategic guidance in Program and Portfolio roadmaps, value stream mapping, and in overcoming organizational impediments.

Required Education and/or Certifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science or a related business discipline
  • Certified ScrumMaster and Product Owner or equivalent
  • Certified Agile Coach preferred

Experience:
  • 8+ years' real-world Agile coaching experience, guiding teams, divisions or organizations through the varied challenges of Agile adoption within an organization.
  • 5+ years' experience with DevOps pipelines, automation, orchestration, and current DevOps best practices.
  • 2+ years' experience with Cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, etc.)
  • Experience with Continuous Integration (CI) tools.
  • Demonstrated experience with Continuous Delivery (CT) tools (Ansible, Chef, puppet, etc.)
  • Ability to facilitate discussion at all levels of the organization to resolve conflicts.
  • Experience in conducting Agile trainings to leaders, executives, and teams
  • Hands on technical experience coaching DevOps best practices to the product development teams.
  • Experience with design and implementation of DevOps processes.
  • Experience with BDD/TDD and test automation.

Preferred:
  • PMP, PgMP, Agile, or SAFe certifications are a plus.
  • Leadership skills.
  • Practical/Actual Agile/DevOps experience.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Experience working with other team members to complete assignments.
  • Interpersonal skills and patience.
  • Experience in coaching and training teams.
  • High EQ and a deep level of empathy
