Contracts Specialist 6+ months temp to hire Santa Ana, CA Position Summary: The expeditor is a member of the Procurement team and is responsible for supporting the supply chain management system. Negotiation, communication, data analysis, and expediting skills are required. Essential Functions Expedite critical orders through site visits and focused communication Develop current vendors and qualify new vendors to ensure Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets are met Own vendor scorecards and reporting, working with quality to improve and develop KPIs Complete regular vendor audits with the quality team Assist with spend analytics and identify cost savings opportunities Continuously improve initiatives for process, procedure, and data analysis Respond to demand using the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software Create a Request for Quote (RFQ) package Negotiate price and delivery schedules with vendors Award vendors based on vendor capability, price, and risk factors Monitor and control orders once placed, maintaining records within the ERP system, the company database, and various reporting tools in Microsoft office Track and organize off-site testing at vendor locations with the project management team as required Review orders for completeness and certification with the quality team to provide shipping release to vendors Ensure completion of open items within the ERP system to assist accounts payable with invoices Other duties as assigned Experience and Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required Bachelors Degree is preferred Equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be accepted 5+ years experience in a similar position Knowledge and Critical Skills/Expertise: Exceptional attention to detail Experience developing, improving, and implementing KPIs Competence with general computer skills and the use of Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, etc.) Knowledge and use of Encompix or similar ERP system is required Knowledge and use of a database system is strongly preferred Skilled in the operation of standard office machines including printer, scanner, and fax Industry knowledge or a willingness to learn Minimum five years experience in a similar role Team-based approach Work Environmental and Physical Demands: In order to perform the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, talk and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools or controls Overtime may be necessary as the workload dictates. This may include weekdays, weekends, nights and/or holidays Job will generally be performed in an office environment May be required to lift up to 25 lbs. A valid drivers license is required for travel between locations. Environmental Safety Requirements New Employee Safety Training is required by all newly hired employees, including Safety Awareness All safety related training is provided and tracked by the EHS Director Job specific training modules deemed necessary by employees Manager or Director will be required of all employees on an ongoing basis Employees are required to wear ACD provided PPE as/when needed. PPE includes safety shoes, safety glasses, face shields, FR clothing, cryogenic gloves, cryogenic apron, cut resistant gloves, safety gloves, hearing protection, hard hats & dust masks. Failure to comply with ACD safety requirements will result in disciplinary actions, up to and including termination. .
