Program Manager, Banking Services

Job Description

Essentials Functions

Independently manage multiple programs typically medium to large in size with complex interdependencies

Support the management of strategic aspects of programs and ensures progress and attainment of goals in conjunction with other program resources

Assist in the development of program deliverables including program roadmaps, resource and project plans, scope, and schedules and provides management level status reports

Identifies appropriate resources needed, and participate in developing schedules to ensure timely completion of projects

Implement engagement review and quality assurance procedures in accordance with company methodology to ensure profitable and successful execution of programs as measured by goals and customer satisfaction

Establish risk monitoring and controls to ensure ability to achieve expected outcomes, on time and on budget

Participate in communicating the program status to stakeholders to ensure understanding of risks, issues and activities related to the program

Provide direct supervision and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure program progresses on schedule and within budget

Job Complexities

Troubleshoot a wide range of complex problems in which analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors

Use skills as an independent, seasoned, experienced professional with an understanding of banking industry practices

On a regular basis, initiate corrective action needed to resolve complex, critical issues and/or personnel issues

Erroneous decisions may result in critical delays in schedules and/or department operations

Impact

Utilize a broad internal and external network of professional contacts and resources to explore new approaches for solving problems and enhancing the department's capabilities

Negotiate, persuade and gain consensus from cross functional teams and management

Participate as a lead team member in driving program and project completion across multiple groups, anticipating and removing barriers

Work is periodically reviewed by Senior Management to evaluate success of programs, quality, schedules and budgets

Knowledge and Skills/Technology Used

Successful track record designing, developing, and executing critical complex banking projects in more than one area of functional expertise

Experience with program management methodologies and techniques, and their application in business and technical environments

Demonstrated experience in planning, coordinating, and administering projects. Excellent planning, time management, communication, decision making, presentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills

Strong MS Office Suite skills

Strong leadership skills and the ability to build team cohesiveness to achieve results and pursue excellence

Ability to self-start and be versatile in a fast-paced environment

Conceptual understanding of current banking technologies and methodologies to plan and communicate effectively with project team and sponsors

Typical Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Advanced degree or certification preferred

Licenses or Certificates

PMP Desirable

Typical Range of Experience

Typically 7+ years of directly related banking experience

3+ years demonstrated experience in a lead or supervisory role
