Job Summary

The ideal candidate is a seasoned subject matter expert with a proven track record of designing, developing, and maintaining large scale data and analytical platforms. We are looking for an individual with a strong technical background that can bridge the gap between business and technology. The primary focus of this role is to make sure our engineering team is doing things correctly so that our company can have good data, at the appropriate time, and with the best solutions.

Responsibilities include:
  • End to end vision and design of data and analytical technical architecture, including advising on technology decisions and buildout of our data platform
  • Design architecture related to data flows, integration, and storage of data from multiple source systems to create data models that guide analytics or solutions
  • Collaborating with business and technical partners to understand use cases and requirements
  • Help demonstrate the "art of the possible" with analytics, data, and architecture to make the most of our data and solutions
  • Conduct hands-on development, configuration, or system setup for early-stage POCs/POVs
  • Appropriately convey and present architecture and solution overviews to various levels in the organization (from technical resources to executive-level members)
  • Assure that the solutions developed to align with our strategy and business outcomes
  • Conduct assessments and perform design and code reviews of proposed and implemented solutions
  • Evangelize self-service data discovery while helping to change our culture while improving the speed of delivery
  • Develops specifications for new products/services, applications, and service offerings
  • Manage and update design artifacts, including detailed documentation on existing and future solutions
  • Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks and works under minimal supervision.
  • Effectively work with ambiguity by walking through an undefined situation and capturing requirements and constraints

Qualifications:
  • 10+ years working with analytics and engineering teams with a mixed data engineering and analytics background
  • Experience with relational databases, data warehousing (and associated topologies), and other data organization methods/models
  • Expert understanding and experience working with enterprise/corporate data models (Data Vault a plus)
  • Experience with ETL tools and methodologies (Informatica, Talend, etc.)
  • Experience with advanced BI/Visualization tools (Tableau, Qlik, Power BI, etc.)
  • Experience in application development and integrations
  • A passion for ensuring data accuracy, clarity, and quality
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and workstreams in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to influence and energize an organization to move towards new opportunities
  • Advanced knowledge in dimensional models for end-user consumption
  • An underlying drive to increase efficiency and track organizational measures
  • Deep grasp of data governance, master data management, data quality
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to partner with client stakeholders from various parts of an organization
  • Understanding of data and BI best practices, architectures, technologies, and methodologies
