A Santa Barbara based Real Estate Investment Company is looking for a real estate acquisitions analyst with 1 or more years of experience to assist in underwriting and investigating multi-family investment opportunities.
This position reports directly to the Vice President of Acquisitions.
Primary responsibilities include:
Create and maintain financial pro-forma models, long-term cash flow projections for multi-year acquisitions, operations and dispositions planning
Assist in performing financing and refinancing analyses
Monitor and analyze the financial performance of the properties and portfolios
Provide support for property budgets, business plans, quarterly re-forecasts, and variance analyses
Develop a working knowledge of leases, various documents, and agreements
Assist in preparation of investor reporting
Secondary responsibilities and areas for future growth include:
Identify potential acquisition targets, assist in due diligence process and closing real estate transactions
Develop, cultivate and maintain relationships with key brokers and lenders
Obtain market data for all existing investment opportunities and prospective investment opportunities
Ability to cold call prospective properties (owners)
The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:
Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Accounting, Civil Engineering, Construction, Urban/City Planning, Economics or related field
Ability to work on multiple projects in a fast paced, time sensitive environment
Excellent communication, organizational and writing skills
Strong quantitative skills
Excellent analytical and financial modeling skills with Microsoft Excel
Passion for real estate
Preferred:
2 years analyst experience in the real estate industry
Knowledge of the real estate transaction process and experience underwriting multifamily properties
Basic knowledge of development and renovation principles and processes
Experience with Real Estate Accounting Software (RealPage)
Strong Excel skills
