High-End Residential Construction Firm is seeking an experienced Construction Project Estimator.
The Estimator will report directly to the President and the Vice President. The Project Estimator’s primary responsibility will be preparing construction estimates for projects varying in scale. The Project Estimator will use the firm’s internal estimate format and derive project estimates from plan take-offs, inspection reports, subcontractor bids, and from physical site conditions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Research and review plans and other relevant project documentation for bidding purposes
· Material take-off measurements based on plan specifications
· Visit sites as necessary to prepare an estimate
· Perform complex analysis of collected data and metrics
· Analyze and evaluate subcontractor bid
· Build and maintain long-term relationships with the key vendor
Construction Project Estimator Requirements:
· Previous working experience as a construction estimate for 2-3 years
· Familiarity with financial and project management principles
· In depth knowledge of research and data analysis methods and estimation formulas
· Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities
· Exquisite math and IT skills with an analytical mindset
· Good time management skills, ability to multi task in a fast pace environment
· Critical thinker and problem solver
· Proficiency using Microsoft Office
· Exceptional organizational skills
· Self-motivated, enthusiastic individual who works well in a team environment
· Skilled in understanding and interpreting architectural plans
· BA in engineering, construction science, or similar relevant field
· Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) is a plus
