Job Title: Childcare provider - Locals only

Location: Central Valley, California

Schedule: Monday through Friday – 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, but flexible for family needs and activities

Home Environment: Informal but a warm professional style is key. There is a young child and as with all positions; children are number one with safety and security being paramount. The family also has dogs so candidates should be very comfortable with pets.

Overview:

The main role of for this nanny is to provide a safe, caring, nurturing and stimulating environment in which the children can develop. They are looking for a new employee that will grow with the family and stay for five years or more. They are a gracious and warm family.

They have chosen to surround themselves with wonderful and grounded people, who project kindness. They expect the same with this hire, as the energy of their home and those within it is very important to them.

Duties:

Create and maintain a warm, nurturing and safe environment for the child

Uphold the parents’ communication and child development style

Reinforcing appropriate discipline for the child in coordination with the parents’ expectations

Prepare bottles for child and care for feeding equipment

Hygiene; diaper change, bathing, monitoring any changes in the child’s health

Dress child for the day’s activities; keep clothes organized

Handle laundry and child’s area; keeping it clean, orderly and sanitized

Prepare snacks and meals for child as per dietary needs set forth by parents

Shopping for child related items

Scheduling and coordinating activities based on age appropriate development

Undertaking appropriate creative activities with child

Undertaking appropriate educational activities with child

Undertaking appropriate outdoor/physical activities with child

Supervising rest, bed and naptimes

Help with potty training

Teaching child good social skills; boundaries, etiquette and protocol

Teaching child table manners

Reading to and with child

Helping with homework (later in life)

Transporting child to activities

Working with household staff as a team to maintain service standards and household expectations

Errands and light housekeeping as necessary

Ability to travel

Create a report of the child’s development and milestones; food likes, physical activities, motor skills and verbal skills, etc.

Required qualifications:

MUST BE TRUSTLINED!

Bi-lingual preferred; ideally Spanish

College degree in Early Childhood Development or other degree is desired but experience is also important

Further training in childcare and development such as formal nanny training program, early childhood classes

A minimum of five or more years of experience working with private families with staff; longevity is important

First Aid and CPR certification

Safety certification

High level of experience with computers – for reports and daily communication

High level of intelligence, clear and concise communicator

Must enjoy working around dogs

Organized and quick pace to keep the child safe

Emotional maturity

Demonstrated experience maintaining confidentiality and privacy

Gracious

Kindness

Must pass background check, excellent references and have a clean driving record

Own vehicle a requirement

Occasional travel and/or weekend/evening work might be needed based on the principals’ schedule

Work style: Partner with household manager, principals and COS
