The Independent Living Institute (ILI) serves individuals with developmental disabilities in Santa Barbara and surrounding communities. We are looking for people who have a desire to make a positive difference in the daily life of the people we serve.
Position Open: Direct Service Instructor (DSI)
CAREER DESCRIPTION:
Provides one-on-one targeted services to adults with developmental disabilities
Assist individuals in reaching goals in a community-based setting
Team with the other instructors
Interface with private and government agencies
Provide frequent participant updates
Maintain current credentials and update training as required
Use specific adaptive skills for participants as needed
Follow individuals served transportation and scheduling plans
QUALIFICATIONS:
Current needs are bilingual applicant (English and Spanish)
Ability to work independently and with a team
Ability to establish good rapport
Exercises mature judgment and decision-making skills
Dependable, prompt and responsible
Respectful of Client Rights, cultural diversity, and confidentiality
Mentor and model excellent citizenship
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to maintain a flexible, calm attitude under pressure with competing demands
Reliable transportation with clean driving history
