The Waldorf School of Santa Barbara is seeking a part time Spanish teacher for the 2020-2021 school year. The teacher will lead 10-12 group lessons per week for grades 1-8 with class sizes ranging from 10-20. This teacher is responsible for bringing a grade-specific curriculum in accordance with the principles and methods of Waldorf education, including researching source materials, implementing objectives for each class, preparing and implementing daily lesson plans, and assessing the evolving needs of the students. The lessons should be prepared keeping in mind the diverse cultural background of the different countries that speak Spanish, while celebrating the people and cultures of those countries.
Additional job requirements also include attending some faculty and departmental meetings, holding parent/teacher conferences, and writing progress and year-end reports. We offer a strong mentor program for the right applicant.
Founded in 1984, The Waldorf School of Santa Barbara is nestled on a large beautiful campus (with access to nearby wilderness) between the Santa Ynez Mountains and the Pacific Ocean. Our school serves Early Childhood through Grade 8 in addition to having a rich Parent-Child Program.
