Excel Personnel Services is currently recruiting for a Program Manager in the Goleta area. This position is Direct Hire with a 9/80 workweek schedule. The hours for this position are from 7 am to 5 pm, four days a week, and two 4 hour shifts on Friday. The salary for this position is between $90k and 102k (DOE). Job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Plan and formulate design, engineering and production programs and direct the organization of program staff according to program requirements
Coordinate project personnel to specific phases or aspects of projects such as technical studies, product design, and preparation of specifications, technical plans, support documentation, product manufacturing and testing
Review product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications
Direct integration of technical activities and products
Evaluate and approve design changes, specifications and drawing releases
Control expenditures and schedule limitations of project budgets
Prepare interim and completion program schedules, status reports, and budget reports
Interact with customers via teleconference, program reports, and design reviews
Monitor project for task requests that represent a change in program scope
Identify cost/schedule impacts for changes in scope and work with contracts manager to negotiate an equitable adjustment to the contract
Prepare Engineering/Design non-recurring estimate and budgets
Other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree (B.S.) in Engineering, Science or Mathematics and 5+ years of related experience
Knowledge of the principles of Program Management
Ability to properly communicate through both oral and written communication
Ability to work independently, with little to no instruction, as well as on a team
Knowledge of standard drafting procedures, including the ability to interpret drawings and specifications
Knowledge of military and commercial standards
Knowledge of materials and processes and their relationship to design practices
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
Strong customer service/interpersonal skills and the ability to demonstrate professionalism at all times
Ability to multi-task, properly prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
Strong attention to detail
Ability to maintain flexibility and adaptability to deal with changing conditions and requirements
Requires the ability to effectively read and interpret documentation (drawings, specifications, contracts, agreements, government notices, company operating procedures, etc¦)
Ability to perform basic mathematical and financial calculations relative to pricing, estimating, budgeting and reporting
Completion of a recognized Program Management Certificate Program is preferred
Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Visio
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, work with fingers, and perceived attributes of objects and materials
Overtime and time pressure are common during peak periods
