We are an established, professional pet sitting and dog walking company serving the Santa Barbara area from Goleta to Montecito. We are looking for pet lovers (with experience in caring for pets or having pets of your own) to work on-call part-time.
If you truly have a heartfelt love for animals, are mature, extremely reliable, detail-oriented, self motivated, friendly and pleasant to work with this may be a great supplemental income for you.
We have an thorough program to ensure that each person on our team is fully comfortable before being on their own with pets or clients. We maintain a very supportive, flexible, honest, friendly and professional work environment.
We are hiring the following positions:
1. Vacation pet sitter: visit clients homes to walk/play and feed their pets. When doing a job the hours are: mornings - between 7am and10am, evenings - between 5pm and 8pm. Visits are min. 30 minutes. Compensation varies between $18 and $21 per visit.
2. Overnight pet sitter - job duties and requirements are the same as the vacation sitter however the hours are approximately 6pm to 8am per night. Compensation typically is $54 a night.
3. Dog walker: neighborhood walks M - F. (and occasional off-leash outings) Hours typically are between 12pm and 3pm.
Neighborhood walks are a min. 30 minutes. Compensation typically is $18 a visit. Off-leash outings are at least one hour "door to door" and compensation usually is $30 an outing.
4. Hotel sitter: stay with dogs in their hotel room the entire time owners are out. Includes taking dogs on potty breaks, walks around the hotel and lots of cuddles and attention. Paid hourly. Compensation is between $18 and $21 an hour. Hours vary but tend to be in the evenings.
Sitters are independent contractors and will receive a 1099. (taxes are not withheld) Payroll is done once a month via direct-deposit so a checking account is a must.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Please do not apply unless you meet the following criteria:
-Absolutely love pets and ideally have pet sitting experience or have been a pet owner. (what is necessary is a commitment to the happiness and well being of animals, (and their owners) as well as a basic understanding of how to interact with dogs and cats)
-Meet the scheduling requirements in the job description.
-Currently live in SB or surrounding area.
-Be physically fit for the job. (i.e. walking dogs in various terrain, getting on the floor to play with kitties, bending, climbing stairs, lifting up to 25 lbs., etc.)
-Willing to commit to the position for at least 1 year.
-Reliable car, auto insurance and a valid drivers license.
-Internet access, computer and working printer in your home, as well as basic user ability.
-Having a cell phone with the ability to text and use google maps is helpful.
-Able to pass a thorough, detailed background check.
-A tidy appearance and habits. (leave no trace at client's homes)
-Familiar with (or willing to learn) online mapping tools and local geography.
-Mature, professional, organized and responsible.
-Common sense and integrity are crucial.
-Work well independently and with others.
-Eager to accommodate clients who expect a high level of detail in the care of their beloved pets.
-Available to work most holidays.
