Price, Postel & Parma, an established and preeminent Santa Barbara law firm, is seeking full-time legal assistants. We are located in the downtown area, near the courthouse.

Qualifications:

Litigation or family law or estate planning and probate.

Three (3+) or more years current legal experience.

High level of proficiency in Word, Outlook, fillable legal forms.

Convert documents and format for Word.

Prepare correspondence, pleadings and discovery.

Diligent and ongoing review of incoming emails to effectively monitor current project status

and actively prioritize newly assigned projects.

Creation and completion of all types of estate planning documents such as wills,

trusts, Powers of Attorney, Health Care Directives, and draft explanation letters that

accompany the creation of a trust.

Preparation of transfer documents, such as deeds and assignments (and other standard forms

required by different counties).

Accurate processing of client intake from conflict checks to generating new client or matter

forms, to creation of client folders on the firm network server.

Efficient use of various internet sites (Secretary of State, County Recorder’s Office, etc.)

to research and obtain information related to asset discovery and property titles.

Litigation – format documents, generate TOC and TOA.

o Edit and finalize litigation documents.

o E-file, scan, file documents.

o Knowledge and application of California State Court Rules.

Calendar court dates.

Either an AA degree or 5 years’ work experience.

Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):

Maintain confidentiality.

Able to prioritize tasks, balance work load, be thorough and organized.

Excellent proofreading, grammar and spelling skills.

Communicate professionally and clearly with clients, vendors and firm staff.

Manage physical and electronic files; keep filing up-to-date.

Promptly save documents and e-mails (and attachments) to client files.

Work independently as well as with practice group teammates.
