VP of Marketing & Development

The Vice President of Marketing and Development is responsible for all fund development activities, related donor relations, and income generation at St. Vincents, as well as for the planning, development and implementation of all of St. Vincents marketing strategies, marketing communications, and public relations activities; both external and internal. He/She oversees day-to-day fund development activities including: major gifts identification and solicitation, foundation and corporate solicitation, and prospect identification and cultivation, while simultaneously developing and implementing support materials and services through strategic initiatives such as branding, strategic research, social media, writing, presenting, production of advertising and placement; implementing promotions and sponsorships for integrated regional advertising campaigns, and cooperative programs.

The Vice President of Marketing and Development will plan, implement, and manage all long range development programs including managing the Foundation Board. Additionally, this individual is responsible for providing expert advice, support, and planning for the development of high-profile marketing initiatives that will help raise the Organizations profile by defining and managing new market streams and a new communication strategy. He/She provides leadership, serves as a committed partner in developing volunteer and financial resources, and directs the efforts of the marketing, communications, and public relations department, while coordinating at the strategic and tactical levels with the other functions of the organization required to ensure that St. Vincents Mission is fulfilled.

Required Qualifications:

Must demonstrate personal identity with and commitment to the mission and values of St. Vincents

Must hold a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field

Minimum of three (3) years fund raising experience

Possess at least three (3) years of experience in a management role

Ability to manage, direct, and coordinate the activities and work of the Development staff to meet departmental and agency goals

Ability to work with volunteers and community leaders at all levels and to interest and motivate them to assist St. Vincents

Possess strong writing, speaking skills, and research skills to support foundation and corporation proposals

Ability to work independently with a strong level of organizational skills

Demonstrates leadership at a professional level

Is conscientious in follow-through and has the ability to be a self-starter

Possesses the ability to generate enthusiasm and inspire confidence and support

Possesses great organizational skill; including the ability to plan, implement and monitor various projects and events

A commitment to excellence through the implementation of best practices

Major Responsibilities:

Works directly with the President/CEO and the Board in the administration of the Foundation & Development Office, in implementing both short and long-range development goals, as well as to ensure consistent articulation of St. Vincents desired image and position

Possess knowledge of theories and principles of high-profile marketing campaigns, advertising, social media, promotions, and public relation techniques.

Demonstrates skills, knowledge, and experience in the design and execution of marketing materials and communication tools

Develops community prospects for support of St. Vincents.

Provides general oversight of Marketing department

Coordinates the appearance of all Organizational print and electronic media such as letterhead, use of logo, brochures, etc.¦.

Coordinates Media interest in the Organization, and ensures regular contact with target Media and appropriate responses to media requests.

Responsible for the achievement of marketing, communications, and public relations mission goals and financial objectives.

Develop short and long term plans and budgets for the marketing/communications, and public relations program.

Works with President/CEO and Departments on annual budget for the office and Development goals

Demonstrates successful experience writing Press Releases, making presentations, and negotiating with media.

Plans and executes deferred giving, estate planning, will and bequests programs

Establishes and maintains a donor recognition system

Provides general oversight of Grant writing process

Coordination and assistance of the Foundation Board in their support of St. Vincents

Supervises Development staff through orientation and training, assigning workloads, overseeing project management of special events, grants, and mailings, addressing performance issues and performing annual performance reviews, and reviewing timesheets.

This position reports directly to the President/CEO of St. Vincent's.

Compensation depends on experience. Benefits eligible position after 60 days including health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life insurance, retirement plan, paid holidays, gym/wellness stipend, and paid time off (PTO).
