Page Youth Center Executive Director

The Executive Director serves as the leader and provides overall management, planning, execution and leadership for all aspects of the organization. This includes effective programs/services, a diversified revenue and fundraising portfolio, donor stewardship, board/staff development, and finance and budget management. The Executive Director reports directly to the Board of Directors.

The Executive Director is responsible for positioning Page Youth Center (PYC) as a leader in Santa Barbara youth sports in his/her respective community as well as establishing effective partnerships and collaborations with corporations, foundations, community/corporate leaders, government officials, other community organizations/nonprofits and supporters.

Responsibilities

Establish a business plan to achieve organizational strategic priorities, drive revenue growth, and execute PYC's mission in the community.

Increase participation in current program services and develop new program services, to maximize utilization of the facility.

Maintain effective communication with the Board of Directors to inform of progress, opportunities, issues, challenges, and establish gap plans to course-correct and achieve financial targets.

Create a shared vision and sense of ownership and accountability with volunteers and staff.

Cultivates relationships with prospective and current donors.

Develops and oversees PYC annual operating plan.

Manages the budgeting process so that resources are devoted to top priorities and strategic objectives. Ensures operating budgets meet or exceed targets.

Manages insurance, legal compliance and risk management policies and procedures.

Develops positive working and collaborative relationships with other organizations, businesses and governmental entities.

Oversees high quality programs, which support PYC's mission. Establishes plans for the expansion of

programs and services in harmony with overall PYC objectives.

Oversees the hiring, training, development and supervision of staff. Ensures compliance with local, state and federal employment law.

Ensures the safety and maintenance of high quality facilities, grounds and equipment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in human services, social services, business or equivalent.

Five or more years of management experience, preferably with established success in fundraising and non-profit leadership.

Ability to direct total operations through volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of budget, marketing and public relations and program development.

Experience in management and development of volunteer involvement; ability to recruit top community leaders.

Proven record of success management and revenue growth.

Knowledge of product marketing/sales concepts.

Outcome-driven with ability to respond to changing circumstances and priorities

Ability to manage and motivate groups and individuals.

Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.

Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.

Excellent oral and written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills

Knowledge of and experience with insurance administration and with human resources.

Proficient in computer-based information systems.

Willingness to maintain a flexible work schedule necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of this position, including the ability to work some nights and weekends.

Superior organizational, financial and project management skills.

PYC was founded and incorporated in 1984 by a group of local individuals with the vision of enhancing the lives of Santa Barbara area youth through sport programs to build character, self-confidence, physical fitness and sportsmanship. In 1991, PYC completed its 23,000 square foot sports facility, which features a 16,000-square-foot gymnasium suitable for a variety of sports. PYC provides recreational programs to 2100 youth per year, with scholarships provided to 21% families per year. The Page Youth Center is a 501(c)(3) that is funded through participation fees, rentals, grants, donations, and fundraising.
