Job Description

The Senior Process Technician will be working as a key member of the device fabrication team to process innovative semiconductor lasers and photonic integrated circuits (PICs) for a variety of applications. Examples include both integrated active and passive photonic devices, in III-V and Si-based platforms, for optical communications, sensing, and medical applications. The following job duties are of equal importance:

Participate hands-on in day-to-day semiconductor device fabrication in the cleanrooms.

Follows process traveler for wafer fabrication, input process data and communicate findings to engineers on daily basis.

Support process engineers in various processing and logistical tasks.

Help the team improve various wafer fab processes for manufacturability, design robustness, cycle time reduction, yield improvement, and cost saving

Participate in backend dicing/polishing and chip assembly processes.

Organize work flow, wafers and tools.

Requirements

> 5 years hands-on experience with wafer fab processes, such as photolithography, annealing, compound semiconductor wet etch and dry etch, thin film coating, metallization, cleaving, dicing and polishing.

Knowledge and experience in semiconductor processing characterization tools, such as SEM, AFM, microscopes, dektek profilometer, etc.

InP and/or GaAs processing experience is a plus

Experience in the UCSB nanofabrication facility is a plus

The ability to learn new processes and technique quickly

The ability to work well in a team environment with positive attitude.

The ability to organize and work in careful manner.
