Your Career

Become a member of the Finance LEAP program Palo Alto Networks! We are seeking a highly motivated new graduate who is excited to join a high growth Company. The ideal candidate must possess strong critical thinking and communication skills. This person will perform revenue close accounting activities while working with key stakeholders, develop analytics, and improve on the month-end close process in their first year of rotation. The position requires a hands-on person who is flexible, solutions-oriented and works well under pressure.

About the LEAP program: The LEAP Program is a two year long program that provides opportunities to help build critical business skills and provide a community for new grads to build connections with each other throughout the company.

Your Impact

  • Own monthly revenue close procedures, including preparation of revenue and deferred revenue related journal entries, reconciliations and close presentations

  • Analyze discounting trends on quarterly basis as part of Standalone Selling Price assessment

  • Perform monthly revenue allocation analyses (allocation of transaction price between performance obligations)

  • Perform revenue, deferred revenue, and billing trending analyses to provide visibility into relationships and drive revenue optimization initiatives

  • Partner with cross-functional business partners and third parties to implement best practices, automation, and continuous process improvements

  • Support revenue related system implementations and perform user acceptance testing

  • Ensure compliance with SOX 404 key controls

  • Assist with special projects and ad hoc requests as needed

The Team

The Revenue team works with numbers daily, supporting infrastructure, dealing in automation, building solutions and providing accurate, insightful financial information to empower our business lines. We work with IT, FP&A, Controllership, Investor Relations, Treasury and others to make things happen.

Qualifications

Your Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA in-progress

  • Critical thinker with a risk-based approach mindset and strong problem-solving skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to build relationships across multiple functions

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and execute with accuracy and efficiency

  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills required

  • Proficiency in Google Suite a plus

  • Experience with data analytical tools such as Tableau and Alteryx is a plus
