You will work with engineers from multiple teams and disciplines (mechanical, electrical, and systems engineering) to assemble, troubleshoot, and repair prototypes and systems under development.Skills The ideal candidate shall exhibit a high degree of motivation and resourcefulness to help us develop solutions to processing, manufacturing, and testing needs in a fast-paced environment. The candidate must also haveAbility to work within a cross-functional engineering team to assemble, troubleshoot, and repair R&D automation systems, fixtures, and jigsExperience in electromechanical assembly of fluidic, mechatronic, pneumatic, thermal, and optical subsystems and small-scale fabricationExperience assembling and troubleshooting microfluidic tubing and fittingsProficiency in electrical/electronic assembly and integration; PCBA troubleshooting and basic SMT rework/repairProficiency building cable assemblies; wiring of low-voltage power and communications connectionsExperience integrating mechatronic systems, such as motors, valves, pumps, controllers/drivers, sensors, etc.Experience running tests to collect and analyze the performance of a systemGood organizational and maintenance skills. The candidate will be the owner of a lab and will be responsible for cleaning, organizing, and maintaining the space and all the equipmentProficiency in working with prototype vendorsExperience working within the context of design control SOPs and a quality management systemStrong communications skills; ability to work from drawings, as well as written and verbaldescriptionsProficiency with standard machine shop tools including hand tools and small power toolsExperience with standard electronics testing equipment (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, etc.) and hands-on debugging/troubleshootingFamiliarity with medical products, instrumentation, and associated requirementsProficiency with rapid prototyping technology such as 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC mills/lathes, etc.Experience with LinuxExperience using Python, Perl, or similar scripting languages, or exposure to embedded software developmentExperience with IVD product developmentExperience with development under ISO standardsEducation MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Formal Training/Education: Some college preferred.Experience: 3-5 years of related experience.
