About the Role:

The Head of Delivery will be responsible for ensuring that intended business outcomes of the Commercial Bank and SVB Capital (CB&C) division are achieved via the successful delivery of business and technology initiatives. In this role, you will partner with Business and Technology leaders to understand their growth strategies and drive portfolio management and agile delivery plans across multiple portfolios and value streams.

As the Head of Delivery, you will oversee the Portfolio Delivery department comprised of Senior Agile Delivery leaders, Release Train Engineers (RTEs), and Scrum Masters who lead 100+ agile teams across multiple portfolios and value streams. The successful leader will manage the full lifecycle of delivery, including portfolio intake, roadmap planning, capacity planning, and agile execution across SVB's largest portfolios.

Additionally, the Head of Delivery will drive the enterprise agile transformation change plan for the CB&C divisions as part of SVB agile maturity journey. This includes continuous improvement delivery practices along with evolving delivery health metrics associated with Initiative health, Agile Heath, System Health, and Workforce health aligned to SVB's OKRs.

The Head of Delivery will also be responsible for portfolio financial forecasting and resource management to ensure portfolio budgets align to annual budgets in partnership with Finance and Portfolio owners.

Once Here You Will:
  • Lead the Portfolio Delivery team responsible for central portfolio and agile delivery across the Business Growth Portfolio and subset of Technology/Operations portfolios enabling 100+ agile teams
  • Facilitate engagement with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring strategic alignment, clear understanding delivery outcomes via a repeatable portfolio delivery approach
  • Effectively collaborate with the Agile Center of Excellence and Portfolio Owners and other leaders to influence key activities and decision making that affect all portfolios and delivery
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify cross-enterprise programs that may need to be managed across portfolios
  • Provide proactive strategic leadership to key stakeholders to drive prioritization, accountability, financial acumen, delivery metrics tracking, and controls management
  • Engage proactively with key stakeholders, steering committees, executive sponsors and leaders, enterprise and finance partners to review portfolio health and improvement plans
  • Enforce the enterprise modernization programs related agile delivery methodology, standards, processes, enterprise tools, rigor and discipline
  • Drive continuous improvement and on-going development of the Portfolio Delivery team based on the agreed upon operating model
  • Mentor a highly performant team in an exciting, inclusive and collaborative environment

What You'll Bring:

IDEAL EXPERIENCE
  • 10+ years of hands-on agile delivery experience with emphasis on establishing and maturing a scaled agile operating model
  • 10+ years leading large scale program managers and scaled agile delivery leaders, including hiring, and mentoring a high performing team
  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience leading Agile transformations and changing both organizational mindset and practices to an Agile way of working
  • 5+ years demonstrated experience with lean agile portfolio management disciplines, governance processes, and executive reporting
  • 3+ years of process engineering with demonstrated continuous improvement outcomes
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, especially Agile delivery methodology and controls
  • Exceptional communication skills with demonstrated experience developing and presenting executive presentations
  • Workforce management experience in a global delivery model
  • Industry experience in Financial Services firms spanning business and technology domains
