Job Description
What you get to do in this role:This position is with the Service Now Big Data team responsible for:
- Collecting, storing and providing real-time access to large amounts of data
- Provide real-time analytic tools and reporting capabilities for various purposes including:
- Monitoring, alerting and troubleshooting
- Anomaly detection
- Capacity planning
- Data analytics and trending
- Observability
The big data team is a central player in the Service now organization. Our mission is to:
Deliverstate of the art Monitoring & Analytics solutionby employingnew tools, systems and methodologiesthatimprove our Operations, Support and Product Developmentallowing them to haveincreased customer satisfaction
What you get to do in this role:- Responsible for leading a team of Software Development Engineers in planning, designing and developing web applications leveraging big data
- Manage and execute against project plans and delivery commitments, including day-to-day activities within an Agile/Scrum environment
- Hire, guide, and mentor staff career development,
- Conduct performance reviews
- Collaborate with QA, DevOps and other dev teams to ensure high-quality software and operational readiness.
- Work with product managers and stakeholders on product road map and vision
Qualifications
To be successful in this role you have:- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- 12+ years of overall software development experience with 5+ years in management positions
- Experience managing and delivering multiple high-quality projects concurrently
- Experience leading a team of experienced highly skilled engineers.
- Experience with scrum development methodology
- Experience with Java, JavaScript and SQL
- Experience building highly scalable solutions for real-time analysis and reporting for multi-terabyte data sets using technologies like: Impala, Hive, HBase, Spark and Hadoopenvironment in general.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ideal candidate is highly motivated, self-driven and flexible
- Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
