We are looking for a Manufacturing Manager with experience in sustaining activities in optically pumped and harmonic generating lasers. We are looking for a detail-oriented, hands-on engineer who will lead efforts to improve existing products and processes. Drive component level design for manufacturability Collaborate with design engineering to understand design changes

Responsibilities Leads efforts that improve yield, reliability, manufacturability, capacity, and/or cost Daily manufacturing engineering support for the Production Line Provide technical support and failure analysis, for discrepant production components and assemblies Develop, maintain, and improve manufacturing processes using FEMA as a guide coupled with Process Control plans for each product line or processing sessions Support Design Verification and Validation (V&V) activities Execute validations on Manufacturing lines (PPQ) Contribute to continuous improvements in process development, component designs, yield and reliability improvements, and cost reductions Support quality system compliance including, discrepant material dispositions, ECO implementation, and nonconforming evaluations Drive component level design for manufacturability Collaborate with design engineering to understand design changes Contributes to the successful support and advancement of low volume, high complexity manufacturing of laser systems Sustain production lines via troubleshooting failures, equipment, fixture errors, and work instruction clarity/completeness

Qualifications BS in Applied Physics, Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering, or other relevant Physical Science majors or equivalent level of demonstrated knowledge. 10+ years of hands-on management experience leading a technical team in medical assemblies, diode-pumped solid-state lasers, diode-pumped fiber lasers, and/or high-power harmonic conversion. Experience with various statistical analysis tools and methods Experience deploying lean manufacturing methods and philosophies Self-motivated and proficient in problem-solving skills using investigative tools (5 Why, Fishbone, Fault Tree Analysis, 8D, etc.) Strong project management with New Product Introduction Gate philology Experience with engineering standards, testing, SPC, and FMEAs Strong working knowledge and understanding of Product Data Management (PDM) software used to manage BOMs and documented manufacturing processes through an ECO workflow. (e.g. Agile PDM) Proficiency in DOE and FEA Excellent MS Office product skills Excellent communication, interpersonal, and interdepartmental coordination skills Willingness to travel as required (
