QC/ PCR Technician

Please note that this is a 6 months contract position.Schedule: Full-time Shift: Day, Thursday to Saturday and alternating Wednesdays. Time: 12 hours, 4:45am to 5:15pmRequirementsMinimum of 3 years relevant experience or associate or higher degree for entry to this level.Ability to run analytic instrumentsSufficient dexterity and physical capabilities to manually pipet accurately in small volumes using pipets and small tubesMust be able work in a quality lab using appropriate personal protective equipment including latex gloves.Basic computer skills – Excel, Word and general interface with computers.Job DescriptionThe primary responsibility of the position is testing or processing of DNA samples. Samples will include routine production samples and development samples. The role requires use of several analytical instruments many of which are controlled by a computer interface. Delicate handling and transfer of small samples is required including pipetting small volumes. The role will require measuring production samples or running production processes. The role may include work in a variety of production processes if the candidate is successful in the primary area.Must be able to follow techniques and procedures in a manual workflow or operating equipment in a chemical lab environment. Must be able to work with production personnel, scientists and follow directions and communicate well.
