Your Career

As a People Team Project Manager, you will provide leadership for complex projects that impact all of Palo Alto Networks. It’s no small role – it requires critical attention to detail, complex systems strategy, and pulling large programs together with cross-functional teams. This rolewill deliver results, enabling teams to execute against a defined set of deliverables.

The ideal candidate will partner with Program Managers, COE’s and the business to shape and execute our key programs, thriving in a fast-paced, high growth environment within a highly collaborative and execution-oriented setup. At its core, you know that Project Management isn’t about tracking dates and timing, it’s about making things happen, the right way. It’s about being a strategic, helpful partner to accomplish shared goals.

Your Impact

  • Provide strong project management capabilities, operate in a developing project management environment and work with cross-functional teams and partners to deliver effective business processes and deliver world-class employee experiences

  • Lead key people projects, collaborate with program managers, People stakeholders to ensure alignment of programs goals to business objectives and our values, development of program work-plan with workstreams, owners, milestones, KPIs, key dependencies

  • Development and definition of processes and systems requirements to deliver multi-year cross-functional strategic initiatives

  • Build strategic partnerships with key internal stakeholders and external partners, vendors, consultants to deliver on program goals

  • Use cross-functional knowledge and stakeholder perspectives and seek to understand issues, trends that may influence the business and the projects around them

  • Bring a People consultative mindset and deliver programs for the function across a breath of capabilities (recruitment, compensation, benefits, systems, operations, programs/processes, and on-boarding/engagement)

  • Partner with the broader set of People Business Partners to design and deliver programs that align to the business strategies and advance the people priorities

  • Track the progress of our key milestones and plans, and help to develop executive proposals and analysis

  • Assess the impact of our projects on the employee experience, and work with internal and external partners to identify ways to simplify and reduce friction in our platforms and communications

  • Partner with systems and operations teams as needed to help drive implementations, track timelines, and ensure stakeholder & strategy alignment

  • Work closely with the CPO to ensure all programs and projects are linked, time scale for maximum impact and that interdependencies are managed with care

Qualifications

Your Experience

  • Experience developing a project management methodology in an environment that doesn’t have a lot of experience with formal Project Management

  • Ability to work across multiple People (HR) functions (staffing, learning & development, operations, communications, etc.) and experience collaborating with all business functions (Sales, Marketing, Finance, Engineering, Operations, Legal, etc.)

  • Ability to effectively work in a matrixed environment, to bring structure and focus to the team while being agile in a time of constant change

  • Demonstrated excellence in communicating and influencing executive leadership with succinct written presentation and thoughtful verbal communications.

  • Comfort navigating a demanding, exciting and unpredictable environment

  • Excellent judgment and critical thinking skills, with a solution orientation

  • Experience partnering effectively with cross-functional teams and influencing executives

  • Exemplify strong initiative and showcase your ability to work independently with limited direction, but with access to coaching to help you succeed

  • Bring excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to lead and track multiple complex projects at the same time

  • Excellent judgment and critical thinking skills, and the ability to translate conceptual ideas to tangible results

  • Strong negotiator and influencer of mindset and behavior without positional authority – inspires others to act

  • No knowledge of people programs required you could just work in any function today
