- Working in Hadoop and Hive primarily, and automating analyses and authoring pipelines via SQL and Python based ETL framework
- Ability to query from large data set in SQL, analyze and being able to extract what the data is telling us or pointing to us
- Certification in either or both
- Building key data sets to either empower operational and/or exploratory analysis
- Evaluating and defining metrics (existing and creating new ones)
- Building and analyzing dashboards and reports that can bring out business insights
- Understanding root causes of changes in metrics; being able to study metric patterns
- Skilled at data exploration; able to quickly transform and synthesize data from multiple sources and identify optimal data structures to support end-state reporting/dashboarding needs
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge in creating relevant, succinct and crisp presentations, in order to present data-based recommendations, ad-hoc data mining, experiment results, etc.
- Presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and highlight actionable insights
