Role: System Support ILocation: Santa Clara, CADescription:The Systems Support Engineer I must be committed to customer satisfaction, with the ability to follow instructions and demonstrate outstanding inter-personal skills. Being a team player is essential since this position interfaces daily with coworkers and internal customers as well as various interdisciplinary functional areas within the organization. This position is based at Santa Clara, but may include some travel locally (approximately 1-5 days a month). Working under general supervision, the Systems Support Engineers primary responsibility will be to act as a liaison between our third party vendors and internal R&D customers at our Client's Office at Santa Clara facility. Specifically for our third party lab equipment used in R&D labs.Arrange/schedule, repair and maintenance visits with third party vendors for internal lab customers, document the work in our RAM database and Team Zone ticket system. Will cross train on service for complex instrumentation and act as a backup engineer for weekly maintenance duties.Additional Job Requirements:1. Complete monthly third party preventive maintenance documentation, plans and executes assigned work. Needs to be present on-Site during core work hours, (generally 8:30am to 5pm)2. All activities performed are documented accurately and in a timely manner in the electronic instrument database according to approved procedures, will triage and resolve tasks that are assigned via our Team Zone ticket system visible to internal lab customers3. Attend daily meetings to update leads and group on assignments4. Learn to analyze alternative approaches to creatively solve problems and/or develop new perspectives on existing solutions under general supervision5. Provide effective and professional customer support at all times6. Establish internal/cross-functional/customer relationships7. Comply with safety policies, practices and procedures at all times. 8. Maintain safe work habits and practices with regard to safety requirements in-house9. Work/align/collaborate with our Lab Supervision team on compliance and organization in the labs. This would include provision of space for instruments and utilities10. Provide limited IT support to laboratory systemsQualifications:• Associates degree in electrical or electronic engineering or equivalent training with job related experience• 1-2 years relevant work experience with basic knowledge of instrument support• Demonstrated proficiency to learn new skills/software/tools rapidly• Must have strong attention to detail• Must be able to consistently follow instructions with a cooperative, “can do” attitude• Must be organized, in order to accommodate changing volume of work• Ability to be flexible with changing work priorities• Strong work ethic• Strong communication skillsPreferred:• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering or related field• 1 + years in medical device industry, preferably "hands on" experience with medical instrument maintenance• Basic understanding of molecular diagnostics products• Working knowledge of hand tools and electronic test equipment• Knowledge of Quality System Requirements (QSR), In Vitro Diagnostics Directive requirements (IVDD), and customer service concepts• Excellent inter-personal and customer relation skills
