Fess Parker Winery in Los Olivos, CA is a family owned producer of highly acclaimed wines with a focus on Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Rhone varietals. Fruit is sourced from our 110 acre estate vineyard as well as some of the most coveted sites throughout Santa Barbara County. Our production also includes the wines for our Rhone-centric sister label Epiphany Cellars. We are currently seeking a lab intern to join our crew for the 2020 harvest.
Applicants should be quality focused, interested in wine, and have a positive attitude and a strong work ethic. This position will start in mid-August and last through mid-November, during this time the candidate must be available to work full time, including overtime and weekends. All interns must be able to lift 50 lbs., perform physical labor, accurately record data, and communicate with the winemaking staff. Previous winery lab experience is preferred, while a degree in Enology, Chemistry, or related field is required.
Duties may include but not limited to:
Laboratory analysis for pH, TA, juice panels, FSO2, etc.
Daily Brix and temperature monitoring, inoculations and additions, fermentation and barrel sampling.
Cellar help as needed including fruit sorting, pumpovers/punchdowns, racking, filling barrels, cleaning, etc.
Inputting analysis into Excel spreadsheets
